    3. Wakley, Thank you for your query. I probably can not provide you the documentation that you want to prove the name of the wife of P.D. Blankenship. I can tell you that of all the Blankenship researchers I have corresponded with, all used the name of Martha Louise Ray as the wife. I could dig up some of those names and provide you in private, would not want to put them on the list. P.D.'s mother was Ruth Koon or Ruth Kuhn depending upon which family researcher you believe. She was the daughter of George Koon and Annie Owensby. George was the son of Nicholas KUHN and Annie Devalt and the grandson of Benedict KUHN an immigrant from Germany. Most of this data comes from a 1971 letter from Mrs. James F. Koon who lived in Rutherford NC. Barnett Blankenship and Ruth Koon/Kuhn were married in Rutherford Co. NC on 30 Aug 1832, I suggest that would be the place to look for a spelling that you might find acceptable. They moved to Yancey Co. NC about 1838. Unfortunately I do not know where P.D. and Martha Louise Ray were married except in Yancey Co., NC on 20 Feb 1860. They had three children in NC and then moved to Marion Co. AR. I hope this narrows the places you need to look to find the documentation you desire. Good luck, hope you will share your successes with this list when you find answers.
