    3. Well when you get to be old enough to remember the birth date of all the rocks in Marion County, that is when they start asking you all the crazy questions. "A Blind Piano Teacher" think about that for awhile, If she was reading braille music sheets what did she play the keys with? Guess she must have taught playing by ear? The name of the lady who used to take kids home from the Flippin school, which did not have a piano, and teach them piano was "Aunt" Donna (Keeter) Phillips. She was the wife of Ned Phillips. I have also heard her name as "Dawn" sorry I don't know for sure what is correct, I believe it was Donna. She was the daughter of James M. "Slippery Jim" Keeter and Theodosia Nanny. Mr. Keeter was elected Marion county sheriff in 1900. Her son, M. E. "Ned" Phillips . died in 1999 but his wife "Gertie" Gertrude (Hurst) Phillips still lives in Flippin. Gerties phone number is 870-453-8325. And by the way she was not completely blind she could get around, with caution, but as I recall I never saw her with a cane. She was a favorite to play at parties, meetings and churches etc. Her complete family history is in the currently for sale "Genealogies of Marion County Families 1811-1900" That can be ordered from the excellent Marion County Web Page. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~armarion/> Hope a copy of this new book will be made available to the Marion County Library when published. 3. Shorty Seawright has long since been deceased, sorry I don't have the details at hand. The Seawright's who currently own the Motel, Auto Parts Store, Pawn Shop and Coin Laundry in Flippin are nephews. A niece, married to an attorney, lives in Yellville. I knew Shorty Seawright well, worked with him some, he was a fine gentleman. Don At 05:47 AM 26-05-02 -0500, you wrote: >Thanks Don - I sent this on to Rev Bill.
