I am looking for info on Martha Viannah AUSTIN b. 1801 KY, d. 1858 Yellville, AR married to Moses RHEA b. 1799 VA, d. 1852 Yellville, AR. I have been told there is a newspaper article about her son John visiting his mother's grave - probably after 1860. John is my gr grandfather. Anything will be appreciated. I'll gladly share what I have on their descendants. By the way, is there a connection between this Rhea family and the twp of Rea Valley? Thanks, Peggy Wood Lewis

SOURCE: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/7563/fam01936.htm If the article you refer to appeared locally, it would probably have been in the Mountain Echo. It began publication in April 1886 and is still going strong. Abstracts of this newspaper are online at http://www.rootsweb.com?~armarion. Look under Transcribed Records. Unfortunately, this is the only newspaper for which there are any records. I doubt that the community/area known as Rea Valley was named for this family. There appears to be no evidence of them still being here in 1870. What we know today as Rea Valley became a post office in 1912. It closed down in 1953. Hope this is of some help to you.
