    1. Ledbetter correction

    3. Thanks for the correction, Thelma. I've fixed it in the Ledbetter database. For some reason, the spelling of the name Kennedy seems to have been translated into Canady in more records than I care to remember. Probably one of those spell-it-as-you-hear-it things. I have been in touch with this Gary before, and we have disagreed in the past but he certainly knows the history of Fentress and Overton Counties. Think he has some books on cemeteries and history. Thought I had better send this on. Thelma. *************************************************** ----- Original Message ----- From: Gary Norris <gnorris@kih.net> To: Thelma Nation <tnation@panhandle.net> Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 9:40 PM Subject: Re: Ledbetters Thelma, John C. Ledbetter, born 1785, served in Captain John Kennedy's Company of Colonel Edward Bradley's Regiment in the War of 1812. I thought you might want to correct that if anyone wants to look up the military record. That name, Kennedy, has been corrupted in several reports from the time it was originally written years ago.
