    3. There probably are, Colleen, but I haven't any idea who would have them, who would know about them, who would know where they reside, nor who to suggest you contact to find out. It's possible there are lists of this type in the possession of the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington DC, but I don't know for sure. The Benge Route List that Don Ott has was given to him with several strings attached by the "owner" (such as "NO copies may be made for any reason whatsoever"). One thing you have to remember, Colleen, is that basically most if not all of the Trails of Tears occurred within a couple of years one way or the other of 1838/39. The Keesees, for example, were here by 1818 so had nothing whatsoever to do with any of the Trails of Tears. Why not work backwards? Get Bob Blankenship's two books on the Cherokee Rolls, make a list of the appropriate names, get the microfilm of the actual rolls that contain the names you want, and see where it leads you. It's kind of like working with the US census records *before* the 1850. Gotta run. TTYL.
