    3. I have been working with Donna Walker who is looking for information on the Lewis Day family in Marion County. We have the information from Big Blue, and also from the Wildcat Cemetery transcription, and now have more questions. Wildcat Cemetery transcription..... Mary Pilgrim is listed as the niece of Lewis Day... Does anyone know the family connection? Was this Mary (Lowrance) Pilgrim? Wife of W.C. Pilgrim. Marion County List..... Does anyone on this list research the Pilgrim and or Day families? Has any one indexed Pioneer Life and Pioneer Families of the Ozarks? Probably wouldn't hurt for me to read it again, but in the interest of time..... Thank You Roger Lehman

    3. Think I've found the connection you're looking for, Roger. The following is from "Genealogies of Marion Co Families 1811-1900, A Supplement" which is still "under construction" and not yet published. WILLIAM ELIAS "Eli" NIPPS b MCAR ca 1854 d near Dardenelle, Yell Co. AR ca 1905 m/1 MCAR 1880 JANE DAY (daughter of John Day) b MCAR 1860 d MCAR 1885; m/2 MCAR 9 April 1886 RACHEL DAY (daughter of John Day) b MCAR d MCAR ca 1894; m/3 MCAR 6 Dec 1894 SARAH ELIZABETH (DAY) LORANCE (daughter of John Day, widow of Peter Fila Lorance) b Walker Co. GA 1842 d Flippin AR 1941 bu Fairview Cemetery. Both were of Stone when they married. He is living with Isaiah & Elizabeth (Howard) (Nipps) Wilkerson in Little North Fork Township 1870. Single in North Fork Township 1880. Looks to me as if you're right - Mary Pilgrim is Mary Lorance, daughter of Peter & Sarah (Day) Lorance, wife of William Calvin Pilgrim. Also looks to me as if the brother of Lewis Day that married Rebecca ___ is most probably the John Day who is father of Jane Day, Rachel Day, Sarah Elizabeth Day, Mary Day, and a few more. Untangling this reminds me strongly why the Society's newsletter is called "Bramble Bush" <BG> Mysty [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger Lehman" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2002 11:21 AM Subject: Day and Pilgrim Families > I have been working with Donna Walker who is looking for information on > the Lewis Day family in Marion County.
