    1. MCAR books for sale
    2. Mysty McPherson
    3. There are several books for sale on Marion Co, Colleen. I think the one Susan refers to is "Early Days of Marion Co" by Marian and Lester Burnes which sells for $25 and is hardbound. It's not actual *records* of MCAR people so much as it is stories about them, although there are lots of dates and relationships. Marian is now in her 95th year so you know she had access to information from before the turn of the century that hadn't been distorted too badly over time. Big Blue is the nickname for "Genealogies of Marion Co Families 1811-1900" by Mysty McPherson and Vicki Roberts. This *is* records of the people of MCAR and has *no* stories about them. It's hardbound, covers 400 individual families, and sells for $60. If you'll go to the Marion Co web page http://www.rootsweb.com/~armarion, you'll find information on many books about Marion Co that are for sale - including prices and where to order them. The newest one, "Gleanings of Pioneer History" by W R Jones (owner/editor of The Mountain Echo for many, many years), isn't on this list yet. It's similar to Marian's "Early Days" in that it's mostly stories which often include dates and relationships. It's softbound, sells for $5, and can be ordered from HGSMCA. Shipping costs are included in the prices, by the way.
