Good Morning Everyone. Just a bit of news - well perhaps to some of you it is old news. If you visit a lot of the USGenWeb Sites or Rootsweb's home page you have probably seen the query boards (the neat looking puzzle pieces that say - Query, Bible Records, Obits, etc.) and I'm sure many of you have posted Queries on these Boards. As of yesterday Rootsweb's Query Boards were merged into Ancestry.com's Boards. The merger of these two sets of Boards is not going smoothly. To access these message boards you must now have an ancestry.com password. The Boards are still free and if they ever get the bugs worked out it might turn out to be a good thing. But many people are upset that the information they posted on these Boards is now in the hands of Ancestry.com. Especially many of the USGenWeb web managers. The only reason I'm telling you this is (1) so that you won't be surprised when you encounter this change and (2) to assure you that any queries, marriages, obits, etc that you have submitted to the Marion Co site are not involved in this transfer/merger. I have always maintained your submissions (queries, marriages, etc) myself using SurName Helper and kept the information on the Marion Co site. Anyone who visits the Marion Co pages will have free access just like always.
