I subscribe to the Mt. Echo (it's mailed to me) and I had a bit of a shock when I opened my paper yesterday. It's no longer the Mt. Echo. It's now "The Mountaineer Echo". I knew the Echo was up for sale but had not heard that it had been sold. The Echo was purchased by the Flippin Mountaineer. How very sad. The Echo has been in continuous publication since 1886 and it's hard to see it go. The Old Dillard Settlement by Doretha Dillard was in the paper but the column by Frankie Seay (Yakima Valley (Wash) News) wasn't. Just a tid bit of news for those of you who don't live in Marion Co.
