Mysty, Thanks so much for the information. Is there any info the cemetery records for Mrs W W Smith? The Fairview/Wildcat list on the net has her buried next to Wesley and Elijah. Also anything stating Wesley was a Union Civil War Veteran? Betty has had me puzzled for a while but the info you gave made me realize she is Nancy E Smith b 1875 according to the 1880 census. Sorry, Peter, but the cemetery records have no further information on Mrs. W W (Melvina) Smith. Because none of this Smith family was in AR during the Civil War, there will be no record of whether or not Wesley W Smith served with Union forces. He was living in MO then so that's where you'd have to look for that information. You might try the Morgan Co MO web site for openers. Knowing almost nothing about this particular Smith family until you brought it to my attention, I did a bit of research which I'm sending (below). There are probably some errors in it, but maybe it'll be of help to you as well as other researchers.
