Don, according to "History of Marion Co" by Earl Berry, there are apparently two Hurst Cemeteries. On pg 33 it says the Hurst Cem is just off Rt 62 between Yellville & Flippin in T19N, R15W, Sec 30. Started aft 1900. Includes Burch, Hall, Holland, Wood and others. On pg 35 it says the Old Hurst Cemetery is about 6 miles east of Yellville on the Lester Jefferson farm, that it's the original Hurst Cemetery that was on a farm owned by John Hurst. This *might* be the cause of the confusion over the cemetery name. Jack is a well-known nickname for John. And there was a John D "Jacky" Hurst around here 1847-1939. Doesn't help much with when Sarah Frances (Foster) Wood died nor when/where she was actually buried, but it's a thought. Mysty [email protected]
Yes the Hurst Teagarden Cem., is sometimes called the Old Hurst Cem. and the other Hurst cemetery is currently in use and I have been there several time. I don't think there is a stone for either of these folk. I expect the one on this side of Crooked Creek is the Jack Hurst Cem.
