Rhio, as still pretty much a newcomer to genealogy, (4 years), could you give me a small idea of what is done at these fairs? I am close enough that I could probably attend, but am hesitant to spend too much of my small genealogy financial allotment, if I'm not sure it would be of benefit for someone as new as me. Are these geared more to gen. societies or what. I sure would appreciate some advice from someone who's been doing this longer. Thanks, Connie Kays

Hi to all, Researchers!!!! Come one, come all. Mark your calendars as FAIR 2001 will be taking place this year on May 31-June 2 in Leslie/Marshall, AR. Researchers, this is the place if you are researching in AR. If anyone is interested I have the daily schedule and the reservation form in separate MicrosoftWord documents. I will send these to you if you are interested. Looks like our own Gen Society will be there, too. What's the saying? "Be there or be square". Maybe those who attend could share with the rest of the list what went on - something of importance that we all might benefit from. Sincerely, Rhio

Thelma, I'd guess this would be Catherine Tabor. Often the "T" in some handwriting could very easily be mistaken for a "Y." We have pretty extensive data on the Tabors in MCAR, but I find none with a wife named Catherine nor any reference to a Henry or a Jake/Jacob. The Tabors were a prolific bunch that spread like weeds over much of the nation so they're not real easy to track. And, like most families, they used the same given names over and over and over. I'm thinking this Tabor and Catherine (Nation) Ledbetter met up somewhere in MO. There's a good chance they'd be listed in the MO 1870 Census Index done by Accelerated Indexing several years ago. Seems to me Heritage Quest has these, but I'm not sure. This would at least pinpoint which county they were in at the time which could make further research easier. These indices exist for 1850, 1860, and 1870 for most if not all the US and are very useful. Can't help with the children of Milum Jones, but maybe this well be useful to you. MILUM NEWTON JONES (son of Felix Wilburn & Rachel [Young] Jones) b MCAR 1864 d Cowden, Washita Co. OK 27 Nov 1951 m/1 Olvey, Boone Co. AR HILAH ROBERTSON; m/2 Olvey, Boone Co. AR 9 Dec 1896 SARAH ELIZABETH THOMAS (daughter of Benjamin & Polly [___] Thomas). You might want to contact Jerry Young jly@ipa.net who has done extensive research on the Young family in the Boone Co area. And go to the Boone Co web page http://www.rootsweb.com/~arboone. Along with lots of Boone Co information, there are lookup volunteers who will be glad to help. Mysty shakerag@mtnhome.com

Would all the subscribers please make sure you have your HTML or hypertext turned off when replying to the list. Choose "plain text", please, in your browser options or preferences. There have been a few messages posted in hypertext and all of you can see what it does. The Rootsweb servers do not process this information and we end up with a lot of unnecessary HTM language. It also takes up a lot of space in the archives because all of our messages are archived for future researchers. I would very much appreciate your help in this. Thanks much. Rhio lisowner

Ken, Thanks for the note. I do not have data that would help you. I know that the Faught family was closely related to the Patton family in Marion County and there are several active Patton researchers. I will post this note on the Marion County List and hope that some one will respond to you direct. We do have a genealogy section in the Marion County Library in Yellville and you might be able to locate data there that is relative to your family. The 1900 Marion County Census has not been transcribed so one must read the microfilm. You could get a copy of that there in Springfield at the Mormon Church Family research center near you. That would cost you $3 or 4 and might better prepare you for your trip to Yellville. You could get a copy of Dent Faughts death certificate and it most likely would have his mothers name on it. I have information on the Yocham family. My great great grandfather was Asa Yocham. My great grandfather was Michael Yocham son of Asa Yocham. What information are you looking for. Maybe I can help. Colleen
I got onto the Marion County Ark. web page and checked marriages and this is what I found on Fannie Leadbetter. Harvey H. Yocham 19 Married Fannie Leadbetter 26 on June 3, 1887. I hope this helps someone. Colleen
