    2. Mysty, Thanks for these links! I get really bored with all the 'tear jerker" hoaxes, spam, and scares! I probably visit once a week.... This was really interesting to - my net bios port was wide open! *Gasp*! The URL to check and see how secure your system is is at: http://www.grc.com The URL to download the free firewall is at http://www.zonelabs.com Once you download, you have to check the programs and check the box to allow your email/ISP so you can get mail And if you have virus protection, you have to check to allow that program, too, so it will work. 3. Thanks for the correction, Thelma. I've fixed it in the Ledbetter database. 3. I, too, choose to reply via the list, Patsy. Surely someone out there somewhere has a tidbit or two for you <grin> Was looking over what you've sent and got to wondering. Have you ever tried searching the AR Cenus Indices? Accelerated Indexing Systems (or something like that) indexed about every census for the whole country up until, I think, when the 1880 Soundex came out. It might pay to take a look at the AR 1860 to see if you can find any of these folks living in AR. The index will tell you in what county they are at that point in time. You might even try TX for Davis Hudspeth <BG> Because, apparently, everyone in the Thomas Stephens family either died or moved or married or something, they're not in MCAR in 1860. 3. Barb, Des Allen has published 3 or 4 volumes called AR Death Index or something like that. You can check these out more fully at Arkansas Research Inc http://www.ArkansasResearch.com. She's extracted the name, date, and county from the index at the AR Division of Vital Records for all deaths on file in Little Rock since Feb 1914 (when death records were first required). If Sarah E (___) Parker died after Feb 1914, it should be in this index (*if* any report were filed from MCAR). If she died before Feb 1914, I haven't the vaguest idea where to suggest you look. Check the lookup volunteers at http://www.rootsweb.com/~arfha for someone who can help with Des' books. 3. On my Richardson Harmon Bradshaw Etc. I mistakenly said Sidney Bradshaw as reportedly living in Marion Co as an adult. Sidney's last name was Richardson. His mother's maiden name was Bradshaw. Judy

    3. My grandfather was William Anderson Harmon b 1869, he first married Sarah Elizabeth Martin. They had five children. I believe she died in childbirth. He soon after married my grandmother Greta Elizabeth Richardson (of the Stone/Searcy Cty Richardsons) in 1901. She was 13 years his junior. They moved soon after to I.T. (western OK). William's father was also named William. There is supposed to have been a town by the name of Harmon named after my Harmons, I believe it is now Prairier View. William's wife's name was Phebe (known as Teba) unk last. There is an elderly woman who shows up in several censuses with my grandfather named Mary Parris. IF she were Teba's mother she would have had to have been 50 years at the time of her birth, certainly not impossible. We, Harmon researchers, have never been able to place her for sure as Teba's mother. Unfortunately it's unclear on the census from where she was born. I'm also told that one of my grandmother's siblings, Sidney Bradshaw, as an adult, lived in Marion County but I've never had contact with any of the descendants of my grandmother's 7 siblings born in or near Marion Co. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Judy
