Mysty: Are there any other list out of any of the other trail of tears. I just know that some of my people came over on one of the trails. I will tell you why later. Colleen
There probably are, Colleen, but I haven't any idea who would have them, who would know about them, who would know where they reside, nor who to suggest you contact to find out. It's possible there are lists of this type in the possession of the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington DC, but I don't know for sure. The Benge Route List that Don Ott has was given to him with several strings attached by the "owner" (such as "NO copies may be made for any reason whatsoever"). One thing you have to remember, Colleen, is that basically most if not all of the Trails of Tears occurred within a couple of years one way or the other of 1838/39. The Keesees, for example, were here by 1818 so had nothing whatsoever to do with any of the Trails of Tears. Why not work backwards? Get Bob Blankenship's two books on the Cherokee Rolls, make a list of the appropriate names, get the microfilm of the actual rolls that contain the names you want, and see where it leads you. It's kind of like working with the US census records *before* the 1850. Gotta run. TTYL. Don: Could there me any Keesee or Mize's on the list? If you get to busy that is OK. When you have the time, I would appreciate it. Thanks again, Colleen

Have run across a Thomas Radcliff b MO Feb 1845 who was in MCAR as a boarder in Little North Fork Township by 1880. Thought there might be a connection I could work with. Mysty shakerag@mtnhome.com
Mary, I doubt that Don will find either Davenport or Bell on the Benge Route list. They didn't arrive out here until well after the Civil War - the Benge Route occurred in 1838/9. And the Benge Route didn't go close to where the Ds and Bs were living at that time. Take a look at the several Trail of Tears routes - including the Benge Route - at http://rosecity.net/tears/trail/map.html. Most interesting. Don sent a list of *possible* MCAR names to the list today. Did you see it? Saw this posting and got curious, Patricia. Do you have any further Scott information? I'm trying to research Arthur T Scott who married ca 1898 Josephine "Jo" Trimble (daughter of Joseph/Josiah & Elizabeth "Betsy" [Risley] Trimble) b MO/MCAR 15 April 1870 or 1879. All I've found for Arthur T Scott is that he died in OK and that he was a JP from Oakland (Jimmies Creek Township) MCAR 1909-1910. "Jo" died MCAR 1909 and was bu at Yocham Bend Cemetery which was in Jimmies Creek Township (her remains were moved to Midway Cemetery when Bull Shoals Lake was created around 1950. "Jo's" mother, "Betsy" Risley, was born in Ozark Co MO 1841. The Trimble bunch flipflopped back and forth across White River and it's my guess that Joseph/Josiah Trimble was born in MO. Sure would love to find more on this Arthur T Scott.
