Unfortunately, Patti, the Goodman family does not appear in "Genealogies of Marion Co Families 1811-1900." However, data is being collected for a sequel to this book and I do have a few tidbits that might be useful to you. Marion Co 1850 US census for Buffalo Fork Township. JOSEPH L GOODMAN aged 32 b KY. MARY GOODMAN aged 28 b KY. GEORGE W GOODMAN aged 12 b KY. BENJAMIN F GOODMAN aged 8 b MO. JOSEPH THOMPSON GOODMAN aged 2 b AR. ELISA C GOODMAN aged 1 b AR. REBECCA J MOORE aged 2 b MO. Joseph L Goodman is the brother of Jesse Goodman b Adair Co KY 1813 d Dangerfield TX aft 1850 m Hickman Co TN 1829 Delilah Dicey b TN 1810 d Dangerfield TX aft 1850. He operated a keel boat near Key Corner on the Forked Deer River [TN] before emigrating to MCAR with the Rutherfords and Flippins ca 1836/7, furnishing a keel boat to transport the women and children. He bought a farm and the Talbert Ferry on White River [AR] from the Talbert brothers and operated the only store north of Batesville AR. His merchandising venture failing, he, most of the Goodman family, and some of the Flippin family went to TX before 1850. In White River Township MCAR 1840 with 3 slaves. Joseph L Goodman can be found in White River Township MCAR 1840, Buffalo Fork Township MCAR 1850, and Big Flat Township, Baxter Co AR 1880. There are several places on the Marion Co web page http://www.rootsweb.com/~armarion where information can be found about the Goodman family. Scroll down to Search This Site and click on FreeFind. If I can help further, don't hesitate to ask. Anything on KEELINGs? My great-grandfather claimed to have been born in Missouri in 1837. We think that his father and mother and older siblings were visiting family in Missouri at the time. They later returned to Todd Co. KY where a younger sister was born. Janet Keeling Daily

Do you have William Roylston, his wife Nancy A. (Sarah) St.John Roylston and their daughter Mary Ann Roylston in your book? He paid Pole Tax in Marion County, Arkansas from 1842 through 1866. No Marion County, Arkansas newspapers before 1886. His birthday was probably between 7 June and 22 August 1811. 1870 US census occupation County Treasurer of Marion County, Arkansas. Most probably not, Barb. That Burnes family has been documented every which way but loose from their emigration to Maryland, thru the Revolutionary War, thru TN and beyond MCAR. Apparently there is no Tom Nelson Burns within that particular Burnes family. Contact Barb Price [email protected] or Brandy [email protected] to verify this. It's my guess - only a guess, mind you - that this Tom Nelson Burns was one of several thousand people that moved to MCAR during the mining era. The dates are right, the locations (Kingdon Springs and Stone) are right, the fact that he's not listed in the MCAR 1880 nor in "Marion Co 1890" by Helen McMindes all lead me to think this is a valid possibility. Can't help you much with the Thomas Nelson Burns side of your dilemma, but here's what I found in "Genealogies of Marion Co Families 1811-1900" pub 1997 by the MCAR Historical Society. Tom N Burns m MCAR 15 Jan 1899 Lillie D Wood (daughter of Ambrose Sevier "Bud" & Catherine "Katie" [Estes] Wood) b Kingdon Springs MCAR July 1878. Children: Homer Burns m Ethel Clark; Verlie Burns; Jerome "Rome" Burns; Cecil Burns b 16 Dec 1903 d 7 Jan 1972 m/1 J B Waggoner m/2 Murley James Johns. In "Marion Co Marriage Records 1896-1905" I find TN Burnes aged 32 of Stone m MCAR 15 Jan 1899 Lillie Wood aged 21 of Stone. Stone was a post office between 1884 and 1913. It, like Kingdon Springs, was located in the area of a great many of the zinc and lead mines during the mining era of MCAR. Sorry I don't have any more definitive information for you. Paula, You recently responded to a genfourm post I submitted years ago. I'd like to communicate with you to try and find out if we are indeed connected. Roberta Estes Hall
Rhio: You do what is best for the list. We can always push the delete button. I don't like the ads, but would option to get the mail that is supposed to be on the list. Thank you so much Rhio. Colleen
To all list members, If you have a response to the following message, please contact me directly. Please do not post it to the list. [email protected] I know that adds do not belong on the list. Postings to the AR Marion message board are automatically gatewayed to our list. This is how they're supposed to work. Apparently someone found out how the boards work, posted an add and it came through. There are a lot of people besides yourselves who are hoppin' mad about it. The person who posted the add to the message board can't be put on the reject list because they aren't subscribed to the list. If Rootsweb's little "tweak" doesn't work, I will ask that the gateway be closed. This is the best I can do for now. If I do close the gateway, it means that legitimate queries can no longer come through to our list. Let me know what you prefer and I will consider it. Sincerely, Rhio Gillis listowner
To the list members: The add that came through to our list also came through several others, as well. It was gatewayed through the message boards. I have been apprised that Rootsweb apparently "tweaked" a few things so that sort of thing won't get through, again. Let's hope it worked. Rhio Listowner

I Totally agree...there should be no advertising on this forum...especially cigerettes. Colleen
