I found today that the Ben Vaughan that was Sheriff in 1904 to 1906 was a grandson of the older Ben Vaughan who was the Sheriff back in the 1800s. This younger Ben was a son of Pleasant Michael Vaughan, who was in turn the son of Ben Vaughan (1815 -1903). Yet this younger Ben did not have a brother named Dalley either, so that part is still a mystery. -- Eddie Davis ec21davis@sbcglobal.net
