I am researching Katie Jane Osborn and her ancestors, and am wondering if anyone on the list is researching her or her parents George W. and Sibey J. Osborn or another of her ancestors (direct or indirect). In the 1880 Lead Hill, Sugar Loaf township, Boone County, AR are George W. Osborn (age 34 AR TN TN) and Sibey J. Osborn (age 32 AR TN TN) and family, including their daughter Katie J. Osborn, age 2. On http://jimwebb.rootsweb.com/springer/pafg09.htm I found information about Sibby Wharton, who married George Washington Osborn (scroll down the page on this URL). It appears as if this Sibby is the same as the Sibey in the 1880 census. It says that Sibby was born in 1848 in Kings River, Madison County, AR and died in 1926. It also says that George Washington Osborn was born in 1846 and died in 1900. The list of children on the website is as follows: Mary Alice (b. 1869), Sarah Elizabeth (b. 1871), and Georgean (b. 1873, d. 1944). The website lists Catherine A. E. Johnston (b. 1830 Lawrence Co. TN, d. 1911) and John Harrison Wharton (b. 1823 TN, d. 1897) as Sibby's parents. Johnston is a surname seen on the same census page as Thomas and Katie Jane Wilhite in TX. The list of children in the 1880 census household of George W.
