My great-grandfather's first wife is descended from Martin & Sarah Combs Johnson. Pearl Herndon Crews daughter of my grandfather's half sister Martha Bell ELLIS researched this line. Buried in Ruddick Cemetery, Benton County, Arkansas. 6 Joshua Thomas ELLIS. Born on 14 Feb 1844 in , , GA. Joshua Thomas died in Waco, McLennan, TX on 12 Mar 1914; he was 70. Buried in Robinson Cemetery, Robinson, McLennan, TX. Joshua Thomas married Mary Palestine PHILLIPS, in Madison County, Arkansas. 7 Mary Palestine PHILLIPS. Born on 13 Jun 1851 in Kentucky. In 1799 when Martin was 22, he married Sarah COMBS. 61 Sarah COMBS. Born in South Carolina. Sarah died in 1829 in Warren Cnty., TN. 120 James JOHNSON. Born abt 1743. James died abt 1777; he was 34.
