    1. [ARMADISO-L] Fading Memories
    2. Jonelle Ellis Russell
    3. "Fading Memories" Volumes I, II, & III are copyrighted material. The copyright date in the first volume is 1989, volume three 1999. Carol Whittemore, of the Huntsville Newspaper, has been involved in this project for for almost twenty years. The index is not an every name index. This is a collection of interviews with Madison County seniors. There are delightful stories and photos. I took the books off my book shelf to check the copyright date and randomly open Volume I. The interview on that page was done by Carol in 1981. The person interviewed was George Cook, age 100. The following interview with Annie Todd Cook was done by Susan Seavy, I met Annie when I visited Arkansas with my grandfather in the late 1940's. Granddad and Annie's husband Tom were cousins. Needless to say I have read both those interviews several times previously. I have visited Madison County several times over the past five years researching my Ellis/Kelly line. So many of the families are connected in several generations. Reading "Fading Memories" is like visiting the friends and neighbors of my ancestors. I purchased all three issues and have found them delightful reading. I have learned so much about the history and the people of Madison County. The people interviewed talked about their family and neighbors. There are group photos of families and school classes, and photos of buildings and individuals no longer with us. I recommend those with roots in Madison county purchase all three volumes. I think the cost is only $15.00 plus postage. I feel purchasing the books was a very good investment. Jonelle Ellis Russell Descendant of Joshua C. and Sarah (Kelly) Ellis.
