    3. Sondra, I have a lot of info on the Houston & Fanning lines, as my two oldest children are direct descendants of both. This is what I have on your line: Linnie Houston was b. 30 Mar 1882 AR, m. Thomas Stevens b. ca 1875 AR, d. 13 May 1953 OK in a car accident. Their children: 1) Ordie Virgil Stevens b. 14 Aug 1902, m. Claudy Barley and had two children - Dias Ray & Johnnie Stevens; 2) William Thomas Stevens b. 1 Sept 1909 AR, m. ? and had two children - Wendle Gene & Charles Odell Stevens; 3) Cleo Stevens b. 30 Aug 1920 OK m. Walter Rose and had three children - Noel Elmo, Vinita Iris & Deloris Jo Rose; 4) Junior Chase Stevens b. 31 Oct 1925 OK m. Freda Bryant and had five children - Daril Chaise, Dale Eugene, Freda Larese, Tommy Virgil & Cheris Kay. With the gap between the births of 2nd child, Wm. Thos. Stevens, and 3rd child, Cleo Stevens, I wonder if I have missed a generation, or should have placed them differently. Would appreciate it if you could straighten me out on these. :-) Linnie Houston was the d/o William Riley Houston & Celia Jane Boren. William Riley Houston was b. 18 Mar 1859 AR, d. 28 Sept 192??. He was a s/o James Calvin & Sarah (Birkes) Houston & I have more on this line. Celia Jane (Boren) Houston was b. 27 Jan 1861, d. 6 Jan 1894 of fatal burns. She was the d/o Mary Fanning & her 2nd husband, John Boren (who may have been the s/o James & Ruthy Boren). Mary Fanning was b. ca 1842 in Morgan Co, IL and m. 1st to Lorenzo Dow "Dal" Weaver, s/o Cannon Roar & Abigail (Bolton) Weaver, who was killed by Indians in 1857 on a wagon train which was trying to catch up with the famous Fancher wagon train involved in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I have more on the history of this as well. It is doubtful that Dal & Mary had any children together. William Riley & Celia Jane (Boren) Houston had another daughter besides Linnie who was named Effie. She was b. 10 Oct 1878 AR and also died of burns, but not until 2 Jan 1896. She was married to Marcus J. Copeland and had only one child named Byrd (a male I think) before she died. She is buried in the Rockhouse Cemetery. Mary (Fanning) Weaver Boren m. a 3rd time abt. 1867 to Demps Brown, s/o Tillman & Elizabeth Brown, b. ca 1832 White Co, TN. By this husband she had 7 more children: 1) Mary Frances b. ca 1867 AR; 2) Frank b. ca 1868 AR; 3) George b. ca 1870 AR m. Cynthia Martin; 4) Cora b. ca 1874 m. ? McCarthy; 5) Susan b. ca 1877, d. 29 Feb 1949 Carbon Co, WY - never married; 6) Earnest Tillman b. 6 June 1880, d. 26 Dec 1965, bur. High Cem. in Carroll Co, AR, m. 19 Sept 1909 to Mary Jane High; and 7) Richard Brown b. ca 1885, d. ca 1915 - never married. After Celia died, William Riley Houston m. 2nd to Mary Frances Brown (Celia's 1/2 sister), d/o Demps & Mary (Fanning) Brown. Mary Frances Brown was b. ca 1867 AR, d. in 1960 CA. They had 10 children together: 1) Sarah; 2) Dora; 3) Anna; 4) Henry; 5) Raymond; 6) Verna; 7) William; 8) Sherman; 9) Cecil and 10) Norma. I have more on these as well. Mary (Fanning) Weaver Boren Brown was a d/o George Washington "Wash" Fanning Jr. & Celia Criswell. Wash was b. 5 Oct 1813 Giles Co, TN, d. 1895 Madison Co, AR & Celia, d/o Samuel & Patience Criswell, was b. 25 Mar 1813 AL, d. 25 Apr 1877 or 1880. Both are buried at Rockhouse Cemetery. They were on the 1850, 1860 & 1870 Madison Co. census and Wash was on the 1880 Carroll Co, AR census with only two children living in his household. I checked the 1880 Madison Co, AR census to see if I could determine who the parents of Thomas Stevens might have been. None of the Stevens/Stephens families had a son in the household named Thomas or Luther, so they may have been living in Carroll Co. instead. The Rockhouse Community is right on the Carroll/Madison Co. line and I have found them taxed in one county one year and the other county the next year. I checked for the marriage of Thomas & Linnie in the marriage records which have been published in both the Madison County Musings and the Carroll County Historical Quarterly, but didn't find one for them. I wonder if they married in Oklahoma. Do you know? I have much more information in notes, but unfortunately I don't have it on computer yet. This info was typed in the "old" days of electric typewriters, and I have just continued to add to this. I would be happy to share anything with you though. Also would love to get your line updated as completely as possible. You can e-mail me directly if you would like to get more in-depth information to avoid boring other members of this list group.
