    1. [ARMADISO-L] Vaughan and Edwards families

    3. I just joined the list and I wanted to put out feelers for anyone who might be familiar with the Vaughan family of Madison County, and possibly this might be where my Edwards are too. I just very recently found some information that indicates they are my ancestors. A woman named Susannah Vaughan married a Joseph Edwards (before the Civil War time) and that is where my mother's Edwards line picks up. Susannah and Joseph had several children, one of which being my great-great grandfather Thomas Jefferson Edwards. From what little bit I've found about the Vaughan family, it appears that Susannah's family may have had a couple of generations in the Madison County area. It seems one of her ancestors (I want to say Samuel--who may have been her father) was a Baptist minister. I think there was possibly another minister in the family as well. Susannah and Joseph ultimately moved to the Waco, Texas area and that was the area their son Thomas J. grew up. Regarding Joseph Edwards, I only have his name as Susannah's husband and that he was supposed to have been born in Kentucky. I would love any information on him or the Vaughans, if this sounds familiar to anyone. Thanx. Andie Stringfellow [email protected]
