My great-grandmother, Lula Ritchie, was married to Earle Houston. I have the cemetery information on both of them as follows: Vol. III cemetery book, Walnut Grove Cem.: "Wilkins, Marion Burgess (fieldstone behind large lilac bush); b. 09 Nov 1859 Ohio, d 06 Apr 1915, with typhoid; 1st h/o Lula or Lou B. RITCHIE, b 09 Apr 1874, d 14 Dec 1947, md in Washington Co. on 11 Sept 1892. Lou md 2/G.W. Branstetter in Washington Co. 28 Feb 1924. She md 3/Early M. Houston & buried Oakland Church Cem. east of Fayetteville with #3 husband. Lula (Lue) was born 4/09/1874 in Crosses. She married Marion Burgess Wilkins and had all her children with him (including my grandmother, Susie Jane Wilkins Ledford). After his death, she married G. W. Branstetter of Tuttle. After his death, she married Earle (Early) Houston. Lula and Earle Houston moved to Chelan County, Washington state, in the 1940s. She died in Chelan Falls on 12/14/1947. My grandmother, who is 97-years-old now, said that when Lula passed away, she left a small trunk with lots of her (Ritchie) family information in it. Earle insisted on keeping the trunk and its contents, and over the years it has disappeared. If there are any Houstons that might know anything about this information, please let me know. It would be a goldmine to my family research. Thanks in advance :^) Jeanne Ledford Brewer in Walla Walla, Washington ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
Jeanne Hi. I do not know anything about Houstons but there was two grave stones of Houstons on our fam land. My fam always took care of them. Keep posting for other information. There are others with the info. I will send you pics of these markers. That is all I have. Thank you, it is good to know something about the people. My father put fence around so cows would not push over. Regards and good searching, Rea ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeanne Brewer <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, August 07, 2000 12:48 PM Subject: [ARMADISO-L] Re: Houston family > My great-grandmother, Lula Ritchie, was married to Earle Houston.
