It is my understanding that there is no regular schedule for state census. Generally there was a specific reason for the expenditure of tax money on a state census. THE SOURCE, A Guidebook of American Genealogy copyright 1997 by Ancestrry Inc. edited by Loretta: Dennis Szucs and Sandra Hargreaves Luebking, indicates there are state census for Arkansas: 1823, 1829, 1865, 1911 Okalahoma: 1890, 1907 Missouri: 1797, 1803, 1817, 1819, 1840, 1844, 1852, 1856, 1860, 1864, 1876, 1880 I would think these would be available from State Archives, and possibly some of the University Libraries. They may have been filmed by LDS and for a nominal fee available through a local Family History Center. It is my understanding that there is no regular schedule for state census. Generally there was a specific reason for a state census. I have seen some school census which have been helpful. Tax roles are also helpful. I found my ancestor Hiram Kelly listed in a Burke county NC 1815 Tax list (He paid one pole). Grandpa Hiram moved from NC to GA in the 1820s and migrated from GA to Madison County AR in the late 1850s.
