Hi Ruby, Thank you for responding. Jane Ann Fritts was my husband's g.grandmother. She married Calvin Lawson, the son of Maxwell Lawson and Anna Gray. Jane Ann and Calvin's son was John Calvin, my husband's grandfather, who married Josephine Robbins. John Calvin and Josephine had, I think, five sons and one daughter, Allie Mae, who was my husband's mother. I'm so sorry not to have exact dates at hand, I packed up and took my research materials with me when I went on vacation, and have not had the time to get them back in the file where they belong. But I know that Maxwell and Anna Gray Lawson were in Madison County early on, ca. 1830. I have some small amount of information on the Fritts family, but nothing on the Robbins'. Anna Gray and her family are also a mystery. She and Maxwell came from Campbell County, Tennessee, so perhaps I need to research there. She was born in 1807 -- much too early for the census to make it easy! Thanks again. Joyce Roberson

Phillip, Thanks for the info. Don't have those Clarks. Donna Brown
Dear Joyce, I am familiar with Fritts because of the old Fritts cemetery in Huntsville. I have several ancestors buried there. Do you perhaps have any first names or other information on them to help me search? Fritts is a very well known name in Madison County, and I have several books with quite a list of them. Waiting to hear from you, Ruby. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 17, 2000 12:54 PM Subject: [ARMADISO-L] Madison County Information > Dear Ruby, > > Thanks for your kind offer of help. Hello List Does anyone have a photo of the old Swinging Bridge over Kings River in Madison County, Thanks you Virginia
Dear Ruby, Thanks for your kind offer of help. My husband's grandparents were John Calvin Lawson and Josephine Robbins of Madison County. The Lawsons were from Wesley. I have been fortunate to gain some information on the Lawson family, but do not have anything on the Robbins' side. Other direct line maternal ancestors were Fritts and Gray (Grau?). How exciting that you were able to get verbal histories, I wonder if you might have anything in books or otherwise regarding these families. Sincerely, Joyce Roberson West Hills, California E-Mail: [email protected]

They were my maternal grandparents. Myrtle Jane was the daughter of Josiah Hamilton (Hammie) and Mary Lucinda Villines Clark and the granddaughter of Abram Harvey and Jane Patty Clark. I don't have your James and Agnes. Phillip
Hi Phillip, Am interested in how you tie into the Clark line. Can you tell me whether it is through James and Agnes Henderson Clark? Thanks! Donna [email protected]
Joy - I'm searching for a Clementine Birch/Burch Dennis who lived in Witter in 1870. She probably died sometime after 1875 but before 1879. Could she be buried in the Witter cemetery? Thanks, Dee

I have a list of the people buried in the Witter Cemetery, so if you are searching for someone, let me know and I'll be glad to look it up for you. I'm working on a history of the Witter area and the people who are buried in Witter Cemetery, so if you have info on anyone buried there, I'd like to hear from you. As for the "other" Joy...yes, there are not too many people named Joy, so I know what you mean. Joy Russell
