Lewis Christopher Walker, born 1858 in Breathitt Co. KY, was the youngest son of Alexander Walker (born 1817, Knox Co. KY, died 14 Aug 1889, Madison Co. AR) and Polly "Sary" Allen (born 1818, Perry Co., KY; died after 1903), According to Madison Co. Cemetery Book #2, Alexander and Polly Walker are buried in the Brashears Cemetery. Lewis C. Walker was married twice, first to a Rachel, and then to a Maggie, both in Madison Co. AR. Children from first marriage (all born in Madison Co.) were Virgil A. (1879), Arminta (1881), Minerva (1884), and Owen (1888). Lewis married his second wife Maggie c 1889. Trying to determine if Rachel is Rachel Cornett, daughter of Archibald Cornett and Pollie (Mary) Ritchie. Lewis' older brother James Henry (Jim) Walker married Martha Ann Cornett, sister to Rachel. Thanks for the update so I'll knoq when i go to get a new computer. i have a read/write cd rom that will neither. So to burn a cd, I ftp pictures to a website, downlaod them onto my wifes computer and burn a cd from there. It's a pain, but at least I can do it. btw, my Madison County families are Seals and McAdoo. Don't know if any are left or not. My grandfather was born in Aurora/War Eagle area. Hope you get the software soon. Hi Wilma, This is Michael Isam from Florida. I lost all sorts of equipment when I switched to Windows 2000 from Windows 98. Equipment was ok, but software just would not run. Just to keep it in mind. Same thing when you switch to other operating systems. Michael, The problem is that many of the hardware people were not ready with their programming updates to work on Windows Vista when it came on the scene. I have two scanner/printer/fax/copiers, that only part of my better one will work until I get notice from HP that the updated programs are done. My newer one works, but is a small scanning bed, and many of the obits will not scan in their entirety. My other one is a legal size scanner bed, and very few obits will not scan in their entirety. I just don't have the time to scan them in parts and then go into photo editing and re-stitch them together. Even ancestry.com was not ready, and their enhanced image viewer would not work on Windows Vista. This was true on other genealogy related sites, as well. HP says they are working to get the updates for Vista up in their entirety for my other one. They only had the print function on it. Even with using the installation CD, I could get either just printing, or just scanning--I need both!! It gives no indication of their ages, and I cannot find any such Vaugh / Vaughn on the 1880 or 1900 census. By 1900 Julia was apparently single again, and living with her parents in Madison County, Goodwill Twp. Since this was Julia's second marriage, it's possible that Vaughn could have also been previously married.
