Joy, Since I am already bothering you (*grins*), might you do a lookup for me in Patrick Cemetery also? I am told that one of my Levi Dutton's daughters is buried there with her husband, though the fact that nobody seems to have concrete dates for them may be an indication that the graves are unmarked. But here's what I have: Frances A.. DUTTON DEATON (conveniently or inconveniently, she married a man in the same Soundex grouping) b. ca. 1854, d. aft. 1930 her husband, Isaac M. DEATON b. Jul 1860, d. aft. 1930 Apparently other members of their family are buried at Patrick Cemetery also. Thank you, Joseph T. Thank you, Joy, I appreciate it. Do you have any idea how complete the cemetery surveys are? I.e. are there likely to be other cemeteries in the area that weren't surveyed? A cousin recently told me that he had seen the name of Levi Dutton on a tombstone there, and he gave the name of Dutton Cemetery, though he said he might be mistaken about the cemetery. This was years ago and he made no notes and took no pictures. I have never asked for a cemetery lookup before because it was my understanding that, as you say, no marker could be found for Levi Dutton, but I was most surprised to hear from my cousin that he'd seen one. As far as I know, my cousin would've never heard of Levi Dutton. He is from a different branch of the family entirely, from Louisiana, and only ended up in Madison County by chance. Levi Dutton is one of the most elusive of all my family. He migrated from Walker County, Alabama to Cherokee County, Texas in about 1849, leaving no record at all in Alabama, and is only connected to our family at all by the chance recollection of a great-niece. He married Nancy Allen in 1850 and was on the census in Cherokee County in 1850, 1860, and 1870. In 1880, his widow appears in Madison County, Arkansas, and traces of his descendants have been found there. 1878 would probably be about the right date for our Duttons arriving in the area, if the name of the place is in any way connected to my family. --Joseph T. Joy, When you get a chance could look in that Master Index for my ggf Gilford Courthouse Ingram born 26 Sept 1853 died 7 Nov 1906 in Delaney, Ark. Several years ago I looked for him in Patrick Cemetery but could not find a marker. His wife may be buried alongside him. Rachel Mary P. Harrington Ingram born 2 Dec 1856 died 3 Jan 1907 in Delaney. Thanks, Melvin A. Ingram
The only Duttons buried in the Dutton Cemetery that have tombstones with their names on them are: Emmett Melvin Dutton, 20 Oct 1886 - 3 Sept 1986, son of George Melvin & Nevada Maybell GARDNER Dutton Dutton, Emma Mae, 19 Sept 1901 - 21 June 1965, wife of Emmett Dutton, Wilma Jean, 12 June 1926 - 16 Oct 1927, d/o Emmett & Emma I have checked our Master Cemetery Index for all of Madison County Cemeteries, and I do not find a tombstone for Levi or Nancy Dutton. I'm not certain why the town of Dutton was named that. The Dutton post office was established on 20 Sept 1878 and the first postmaster was Thomas H. Reynolds. Joseph, The enumeration I have for Dutton Cemetery, that of Mickey Weise Vaughan of 1982, lists neither Levi nor Nancy Allen Dutton. There are, however, said to be at least 129 graves marked only by field rocks. Perhaps, as were most of my ancestors, they were buried under post-it notes. Does anyone out there have access to the Madison County, Arkansas cemetery books, and would be willing to do a quick lookup? I am looking for Levi DUTTON (born ca. 1825, died ca. 1870-1880?). I've recently received a tip that he might be buried at Dutton Cemetery (yes, this is a no-brainer). If anyone could look for him, especially in that cemetery and around that area, I would be most grateful. He would probably have been buried with his wife, Nancy ALLEN DUTTON (born ca. 1828, died after 1880). Also, does anyone know for whom the town of Dutton was named? Thanks, Joseph T. Richardson http://www.zdutton.org/

For some reason the surname list for letters E-H is still not going through. I have sent them several times, once again this morning, and they are apparently still not showing up. I have no control over that, but wanted to explain the situation. I do get a delayed message, but then usually a day or so later, I get an undeliverable message. As I understand it, rootsweb experienced a massive spam attack in October, and list messages on some mailing lists are being delayed. I will assume that these may be some of the lists affected. Wilma
Rootsweb may still be having some problems, as this obit list is one that has not gone through, so I am trying again. -------Original Message------- From: Wilma Fields Date: 11/3/2007 4:29:53 PM To: ARBENTON@rootsweb.com Cc: ARMADISO@rootsweb.com; ARWASHIN@rootsweb.com Subject: October 2007 Obits E - H For a copy, e-mail me at wfields55@hotmail.com Wilma EADS, Eva Louise84Sept. 10, 1923Oct. 15, 2007 EASTERLING, Delores 67Dec. 23, 1939Oct. 12, 2007 EDGMON, Nola Faye82Nov. 01, 1924Oct. 29, 2007 EDWARDS, Paula56Nov. 16, 1950Oct. 11, 2007 ELLIOTT, Margaret79Sept. 22, 1928Oct. 28, 2007 ENLOW, Linda May64Jan. 12, 1943Oct. 01, 2007 FARRIS, Austin82Aug. 06, 1925Sept. 29, 2007 FITZGERALD, Hilda Rose Hewitt98Jan. 06, 1909Oct. 10, 2007 FLODMAN, William E.85July 03, 1922Sept. 30, 2007 FOX, Vella Lea Holt June 05 1926Sept. 30, 2007 GAHR, Lorraine Rose75Nov. 12, 1931Oct. 23, 2007 GAY, Howard Hancel79Nov. 29, 1927Oct. 10, 2007 GERMAN, Georgia72Apr. 17, 1935Oct. 27, 2007 GERMAN, Ilene89Jan. 02, 1918Oct. 26, 2007 GERSHUNY, Peggy Jane Foster Coronna74Mar. 26, 1933Oct. 07, 2007 GIDDENS, Gerald66Aug. 07, 1941Oct. 25, 2007 GLASS, Trishia Diann60May 15, 1947Sept. 29, 2007 GOINES, Duane Edward47Apr. 21, 1960Oct. 06, 2007 GRACY, Jack S.88Jan. 11, 1919Oct. 26, 2007 GRDINICH, Anthony77Feb. 12, 1930Oct. 06, 2007 GREENHAW, Richard M.90Feb. 28, 1917Oct. 13, 2007 GREGORY, Delbert L.65July 17, 1942Oct. 24, 2007 HADDOCK, Dale98 Oct. 25, 2007 HAFFELDER, Bob69Oct. 03, 1938Oct. 25, 2007 HALL, Arlie Andrew84Oct. 17, 1922Oct. 08, 2007 HANNAH, Samuel Gideon86July 02, 1921Oct. 25, 2007 HARJU, Lucille Emily81Oct. 26, 1925Oct. 01, 2007 HARNESS, Margaret Ann52Apr. 12, 195Sept. 30, 2007 HARRIS, Lee87Aug. 01, 1920Oct. 25, 2007 HAYES, Raymond Edward91 Oct. 10, 2007 HEATON, Jimmy Ray69Oct. 09, 1938Oct. 17, 2007 HERRINGTON, James47July 20, 1960Oct. 16, 2007 HESTER, Lois Nadine83Aug. 05, 1924Oct. 04, 2007 HILL, Mary Ellen81Sept. 01, 1926Oct. 07, 2007 HINTZEL, Thomas57 Oct. 08, 2007 HOLLOWAY, Pansy92 Sept. 30, 2007 HOLT, Junior R.65Mar. 21, 1942Oct. 26, 2007 HOLT, Sheila Faye39Nov. 16, 1967Oct. 04, 2007 HOWE, Richard Paul57July 13, 1950Oct. 19, 2007 HUFFORD, Esther77Aug. 21, 1930Oct. 01, 2007 HUMPHREY, Reba Fae79Aug. 13, 1928Oct. 09, 2007 HUTTO, Larry62Sept. 10, 1945Oct. 12, 2007

I am working on my husband's family and am looking for information on his aunt, Tommie Dyer. She was born in 1911 and died in 1947. She is buried at Goshen, Washington county, AR along with her parents, Joseph and Maggie Caroline Parks Dyer. She is listed as Tommie Dyer Parson. She had three older brothers, Autie (Red) Dyer, 26 Feb 1899 - 5 Apr 1986, William (Bill) M. Dyer, 1902 - 13 Jun 1985 and Aaron Denton (Dick) Dyer, 14 May 1908 - 20 Sep 1983. Dick was my father-in-law. Tommie died when my husband, Jim was only 2 years old so he does not remember anything about her. I have not been able to figure out who the Parson is that she married. I do have a few pictures of her and a soldier. I think the picture was taken in California during the was. The whole family lived in Washington County, AR. Any help would be appreciated. My sister was here in AR visiting last week to look for some branches of her husbands' family, and we hit paydirt in Madison Co. Any way, we spent much of the rest of the day at Kingston Cemetery, as well as stops at Upper Campground and Lower Campground Cemetery taking pictures. After I got home, and because we share data, I started entering information from the papers and pictures into my database, and made quite a bit of headway. Then I started looking for census records, SSDI, some other of my paid subscription sites, etc, and my obit indexes ( the obits prior to 2007 are all now at the NAGS library at the Bentonville, AR. Library), and some that many of you had requested over the past couple of years. Anyway, would love for you all to contact me again, and maybe I have some things and you have some things that would help each other out, and my sister in Central MO. as well!
