    3. WOW!!! Thanks, JoAnne!!! I realize that sometimes census records have mistakes, so perhaps that is why she wasn't found on the 1880 one, cause she really was in Tennessee then *OR* the info I had was just wrong.........could they have been in another county in AR, then, I suppose? And it's an extra treat to find a name of a sibling of Arizona's, cause I don't have *anything* on her family! The only other tidbit I have was that Arizona's parents died when she was a child, so that could explain why she married at age 13 (I know lots did marry young, anyway), and why she had her younger brother living with her. I was told supposedly they moved to OK in 1895, which is obviously wrong if they're on the 1900 census in Arkansas! So much for word-of-mouth info, huh. Rolla's family supposedly lived in Goddard County, AR for a time, wonder if he met Arizona there instead of Madison Co? Thanks so much!!! Patti Jobe Patti, I didn't find Arizona as a child in the Madi. Co. AR 1880 Census. I did find her in the 1900 census. It states in this census that she was born in AR as was her mother and father. She is living in Kentucky Twp. age born Rolla B. Dale 37 March 1863 IN IN IN Arizona 25 July 1874 AR AR AR Boni M. 7 June 1892 AR IN AR Mary B. 4 Aug 181895 AR IN AR Claud A. Johnson (Arizona's bro.) 20 Feb 1880 AR AR AR Didn't find this family in 1910. JoAnne

    3. OK, my brick wall is finding the parents and family of Arizona Drucilla Johnson, a great-grandmother. She was born 1874 in Tennessee, died 1956 in Sperry, Oklahoma. She married about 1887 in **Madison County, AR** to Rolla Burse Dale, born 1862 in Boone Co, Indiana, and died 1940 in Sperry, Oklahoma. She went by Arizona, or "Ma Dale" after she was married. Thanks for ANY tips or help, Patti Jobe [email protected]

    3. Such wonderful luck...I have not traced any of the Neal lineage beyond a couple of Grandfathers and Grandmothers of Emmeline Mary Neal, my Great Grandmother. I do have somewhat of a draft family tree that I have been working on and I can send you the Neal Family portion that I do have in place. Send me your snail-mail address and I'll send it right away. The family stories in my lineage - on all sides - are scant. All of my Grandparents have passed away and there is only my Father and Mother to tell the tales of yesterday. I have found a few cousins and researchers that have provided bits and pieces now and then. That always helps. My Father remembers very, very little...at 85 he has a bit of Sundowners. Mom remembers a bit but she wants to talk about it more than put it down on paper for "the record". I'll surely be interested to know lineage in the Neal line and the Guinn line...and I'll be waiting for the stories and such. 3. Good Morning, JoAnne... I'm working on your Guinn line, too... ...'cause it is in integral part of my Neal ancestry. William Neal is my GG Grandfather, through Emmeline Mary Neal, my Great Grandmother, and Virgil Wilson Boyd, my Great Grandfather, through Olen Elvis Boyd, my Mother's Father. The list of email adresses was pretty long so this is a cut and paste of a short message citing a source followed by the longer message. It does affect those of us who Arkansas ancestors directly and all of us indirectly. Jonelle Ellis Russell ----------------- The fowarded message, for your information, was sent to the NGS board of directors by Lynda Suffirdge, a board member and president of Arkansas Genealogical Society. ----------------- The Arkansas Genealogy Society Board heard some distressing news at its meeting last Saturday. Dr. John L. Ferguson, Director, announced that the State Building Services may move the History Commission and Archives to a new location in order to use its space for a secured computer facility. He was told by SBS representatives that there was no money for a new History Commission building and that it would be placed in some older structure facility. The new location of course would not have the facilities to properly preserve archival material, house the microfilming and conservation functions and adequately serve the public. Dr. Ferguson said, "It is going to ruin us if we have to give up these quarters. We are helpless without the physical environment we have." The History Commission and Archives was situated in One Capitol Mall building in 1979 and secured there by Act 933 of 1985. It may require another act to move it. The Arkansas Genealogical Society has committed to doing everything possible to prevent this proposed move and we ask everyone to join our effort. This would affect people through out the world who are researching Arkansas related material. Please write your letters of concern to: Robert L.
