Please take my suggestion and post at this Civil War site:http://www.history-sites.com/mb/cw/arcwmb/ Perhaps they can give some insight into that matter of his burial. There is a big cemetery at Little Rock filled with Union dead. The Confederates are in another area from them. There was actually a real battle at Brownsville in August of 1863. My understanding is there were interactions between the Union and Confederacy all over this area. Do you have any info on what he was doing at the time he was killed? What group was he serving with? Was he carrying a payroll by chance???? There is a big Civil War cemetery just north of what is left of Brownsville. I believe it may be called Camp Nelson, but I am under the impression all those men were Confederate with many of them being from Texas. Good luck!!
