This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Baker/Nichols Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VV.2ADI/579 Message Board Post: Does anyone know where Gray Township is located? My G-Grandmother was raised there. In the 1860 & 1870 census it is located in Pulaski County - Yet in 1880 census it is in Lonoke County? I know there was a change somewhere around 1873. When I look at a town listing of Lonoke Cty it's not there. I'm lost! Both sets af my GG grand parents are buried some where in this area also. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Judy Baker
Hi Judy, Gray twp is Jacksonville area. I think in the 1950s or 60s to twp just became Jacksonville (in Pulaski). There is another Gray twp on the Lonoke side-- just opposite, on the other side of the county line.
