Per chance you want someone to help with research in Lonoke County or even the whole state for that matter, try writing Sherryl Miller at the Lonoke County Museum, PO Box 873, Lonoke Arkansas, 72086. This is probably your best shot at actually learning something here in Lonoke County and that is just my opinion. Outline what you are looking for and give as many dates,etc as you know. Sherryl will take that with her and search at the history commission in Little Rock for you if necessary. To call, phone 501-676-2496. All of this is on the up and up. If she does not find anything, she will still keep a list of what you are interested in, and perhaps find it later. If it is there, she will find it though has been my experience. She had found things for me I would never have stumbled on. Sherryl will expect postage, copying cost and a donation to the building fund of the museum. This is done strictly as a fund raiser for the Lonoke County Museum. The lady has written three books. I have had computer problems and seem to hae lost the death date of my grgr grandmother, Nancy B. Bell who is buried in Mt. Carmel Methosist Cemetery in Lonoke Co Ark. She was the mother of Dr. James Flack Bell who was connected to the High, Cherry, Long and Eagle families. I think she died in 1883 (or 1887) If anyone had access to that info. I would so much appreciate it. I got to visit there once for just a few minutes when I was going cross country. She was Nancy Brown wall prior to her mdg. to Clement K. Wall. I jsut thought there might be old newspaper obituaries.someplace. that could be checked for an obituary. Would love to visit again. Sue in Al.
