Betty, Where are the "Proctor's" that you had on your list to research, from? I have a cousin that was raised around Carlisle, AR. He was raised by my Aunt, who was his grandmother. His name was Jim Proctor and Her name was Minnie Hendricks. I had heard, when I was growing up that Jim's Dad was a Doctor and committed suicide, in Carlisle, when Jim was just a child. The last record we have of Elbert and Eunice – as well as several of their 15 children – is the 1860 Polk Co., census. However by 1870 some of these boys were located in Van Buren Co, and 1880 in Faulkner Co., with their families. But since most of the girls would have married in the 1840s, 50s, and maybe 60s, and many courthouses were burned since that time, we have not been able to locate marriage records, therefore do not have surnames to work with. So, I am sending out a plea to anyone who thinks they might be descended from one of the following to get in touch with me.
