Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VV.2ADI/366.2.1 Message Board Post: Thanks Linda, (you too Tom) that was very helpful. I too have many relatives buried at Lonoke City Cemetery. An obit I have refers to Wheat and it is interesting because there appears to be some connection between my LITTON line and the EAGLE's (don't know exactly what though). I am currently researching the LITTON, KING, SWAIM, DUGGAR, and AUTRY surnames in and around Lonoke, Pulaski, Prairie, and Conway, etc. Any of these surnames ring a bell?

According to my sources, it is called the Eagle-Wheat Cemetery. Try to get a current Lonoke County map. Look for Bevis Rd. on the west side of the county as you move toward Pulaski County. It should be right there. Lonoke Cemetery has only been called Lonoke as far as I know. I have relatives buried there.

    3. Hi Sue, My ancestor's sister married a Bell and lived in Lonoke. Her name was Mary Ann Elizabeth Tanner and her husband's name was Joseph C. Bell of Mississippi. She was only 18 when she died. Her sister Amanda Carolina Tanner also married a William F. Bell in Marshall Co MS and they ended up in Pope Co AR. He was the son Thomas and Elizabeth Bell (who may have been a widow Lang). Finally, a third sister Prudence Rosanna Catherine Tanner m. a Samuel Bell Kirk in Lonoke. His parents were George Kirk and Frances R. Bell. I'm sure all these Bells must be related. Any connection to yours? Ed SewzArt@aol.com wrote: > > I have a 3rd grt grandmother, Nancy Brown Wall Bell buried in Lonoke in Mt > Carmel Methodist Cemetery. 2. Thank you for the inquiries. For Joyce; my White line is through my paternal grandmother Nora Elmina WHITE SAMPSON. The Whites came from NY and traveled to Washington State and back to Oklahoma and Texas. I'm sure there are some also in Arkansas, but I haven't made the connection yet! Virginia; my PROCTOR line starts with my g-grandmother also on the paternal side. Her name is Mary Ellen PROCTOR SAMPSON. Her family comes from Virgina and westward to Bowie County Texas. This is my site on rootsweb; http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=1817305 Look in the index and follow back from either Nora White or Mary Proctor to find ancestors. Research Surnames: SAMPSON, HIGGS, WHITE, GRIFFIN, LUMPKIN, PROCTOR, SMITH, NICKLES from areas NY., MS, NC, AR, OK, TX, GA.
