Hi Ed, I sure wish we could show a connection between these Bell families but at present I don`t have anything that would do that. It sure looks like they could be related. Do you have an earlier Bell ancestor for these in Lonoke? For instance do you have one born about 1800 That is the birthdate of my James Flack Bell and he had 2 brothers, Wm and Andrew McKinley Bell. Thopugh I don`t seem to be able to place these with those bros. Thanks for your input. Sue
Hi Jack, Please bear with me. I had to go back to the doc with my shingles. They're not supposed to be contagious, but my daughter-in-law who lives right in front of me has them now. I did not touch her while I had the blisters. but, the pain is terrible. Her doc told her that nerves is what causes it. Lord being my helper i will get over to Lonoke today. Hi Shirley, Well that is good news. I've never experienced it myself but have known those that have and they say the very same thing. Glad your recovering. Hope your not having any of the bad weather that's pelting Oklahoma and Missouri. The only thing I received from the court was a copy of page 196 of the deed book stating that the final settlement was presented by T.E. Fly (wife of J.A. Fly) and ordered it to be filed and continued to the next term. What I was hoping to receive was the info in the probate file giving the usual information who received what, survivors, etc. Thank you so much for offering to help. Jack
Hi Jack, I plan on going to Lonoke Monday, If it's not too much trouble, tell me what they sent to you so I won'tcopy the same thing. My rash is about gone, but it still itches. I would not wish that on my worst enemy, Thanks for thinking about me. You may wish to check out the delta-dirt.com web site that Bill Henderson, a native of Lonoke County runs. It tells the stories of some of the folks who helped make this area of ours.
This can be a post-script the the previous email regarding Hugh Carothers. As I mentioned, he had a sister Sarah Lou Carothers. She was born Jan. 26, 1917 and died on August 10, 2001. She was married to Ewell Knight who was born Nov 15, 1913. He died in April of 1982. Would like to obtain obits for Sarah and Ewell Knight in order to locate possible family members. Can you help? Mary in CA
Hello. I am new to the list. Would like to find information about Hugh "Jack" Carothers born June 7, 1914, to David Edward Carothers and Emma Ann Eldridge. Hugh "Jack" Carothers died in September 1988. The Social Security Death Index states he last resided at Cabot, Lonoke Co. Hugh had siblings named Lawrence Mack, David, L. Marvin "Bud", Rachel (m. Charles Witley or Willey), John, Herbert Earl, Amos Klein, Edgar, Sarah Lou (m. Ewell Knight), and Charles. Would love to correspond with any member of these families and would like to obtain an obit for Hugh. Sincerely, Mary Eldridge-Harris in CA

I believe Willia Susanna was born there in 1872. I don't know what year either of them died, and I don't know if the location is Lonoke city or county. What I know is the family, which included W.H., his wife, son Augustus Bingham and possibly son John Marcellus left Texas about 1870 and settled in Lonoke. I don't know if either William Hardin Moore or wife Anna Elizabeth (Worley) Moore had family there. By the 1880 Census Anna Elizabeth (Worley) (Moore) Smith has remarried, and with new husband and 13-year old son Augustus Bingham lives in Mt. Vernon, Pulaski Co., AR. The census does not list son John Marcellus Moore in the new Smith household. Possibly son John Marcellus died in Texas or perhaps in Lonoke. I'm desperate for info on him, also. Any help ... census info, dates of death, burial sites ... would be greatly appreciated. If I can't find SOMETHING on Willlia Susanna Moore it will be as if the little girl never existed ... and I don't want that to happen to her or John Marcellus or anybody else. Thanks ... Katy Knight

I am currently researching the LITTON, KING, SWAIM, DUGGAR, and AUTRY surnames in and around Lonoke, Pulaski, Prairie, and Conway, etc. Any of these surnames ring a bell? ==== ARLONOKE Mailing List ==== To become a volunteer for the Census Project go to http://www.us-census.org ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
