I am looking for information on the death and burial of William Thomas Bryant(b. Lewis Co., MO in 1849) at Ward, AR. about 1926. He had a son Joseph Ross Bryant whose wife was Effie Thrash that may have been there at that time. Any info. would be appreciated. Jim Bryant
That would be near hwy 89. Hwy 89 runs through section 31 and also hwy 321 is on the northern border of section 31 so where those meet is about your location and is in the Southern part of the city of Cabot. Reddick Eason lived near or on the road from Memphis to Little Rock. In current terms on the Military Road about half way between Furlow and the Bayou Meto bridge. During the 1830's Roddick supplied fodder and pork to emigrating Indians and at times meals and board to travelers. Samson Gray who lived near the Bayou Meto was engaged in road work with Samuel Rutherford at this same time and John and Wiliam Eason were paid for 22 days work on the road and were paid $17.00 for the 22 days. I can't help with the genealogy questions but thought this might be interesting history. If any one would like more on this subject they can email me direct. Carolyn Kent
