Mildred, there were some shaffer family members living in Logan county before the turn of the century,but all I have on them is my grandfather,his wife and children and some of his brother's.Frank shaffer was my grandfather.He had one older brother John and seven youger brothers,Will or William,Edward,George,Albert,Charlie,Henry,and jimmy. Now Will's wife's name was Maggie and they were married in 1904 and had a daughter named Emily who died Jan. 23rd 1905 and is buried at oakwood cemetery in paris.Henry's wife was Evenlyn and they had two childern Lorrain and Henry jr.As for the others you mentioned,Lewis A.,Polly Ann,Jesse,Edward,wm,carl,and henry they could have been children of some of these brothers that i don't know about but would like to find out.I have a break down of my Shaffer Family going back to my g-grandfather who was a frenchman that migrated to America in 1871. His name was Augusta born in france in 1846 and died in PrattCity,Alabama in 1912.He and his wife! Emily had 11 children in which some of them came to Arkansas to work in the coal mines in the latter part of the 19th century.Could you possiably fine out more on the shaffer family from this person who is inquiring, like in what cemetery are these that you mentioned are buried so that the next time I go to paris in logan county to visit my older brother,i can do a lookup of these people????????
