Carole, this is Teress's family. I had found the Civil War Records of Sylvester Workman and his brother in my Arkansas Civil War books published by Desmond Walls Allen & in there it gave their units and that their birthplaces were Ozark County, MO, and that Sylvester Workman died in Stigler with the death date in the CW archives . I went to the Oark Co, MO. 1860 census and found Old Issac Workman and wife Elizabeth with the Martin and Turley's as neighbors all around them in both 1860 and 1870 (all with Indiana Birth Places matching the Workmans). Sylvester and his brother Isaac and others siblings are shown there, Syl Workman called his brother "Ike". And I had found the history of the "Jack Workman" family in the "History of Haskell Co., Okla." Jack's children still live there in Stigler, Okla............that is Jack Workman, Jr. there were TWO generations. This is wonderful, I thought when I found the Ozark County Missouri that the Workman line had been done, as their were listings back into early NC and elsewhere for them. Teressa and I worked up until 3 am in the morning Friday night on this and she was moving quickly with the available data on them. Your information is the "whole ball of wax".......this is wonderful! My dad remembers old Silvester Workman in Stigler......dad is 92. This has been a fun search.
