    2. Researching the Fryar and Rogers surnames. My gg grandparents were Mary C. Churchman and James Alexander Fryar both born in Arkansas lived there until about 1900 and moved family to Indian Territory OK. James was first married to Tennessee Woods. James parents were Carolyn Rogers and Joseph Fryar. I do not have any information on Carolyn. Any information would be wonderful. Thanks, Robin

    3. My records show Caroline (___) Friar/Fryar Rogers is buried in Hixson Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas. The dates on her marker are May 27, 1824, and November 4, 1896. Her tombstone says she was born in 1824, but she is 44 on the 1870 census and 54 on the 1880 census, and I believe she was born in 1826. 1870 AR, Johnson County, Clark Twp., page 26 (13b) #180-180 Friar, Alexander 24 m TN Farm laborer Tennessee 17 f AR Keeping house #181-181 Rogers, Caroline 44 f TN Keeping house Friar, William 20 m TN Farm laborer James S. 18 m TN Attends school Nancy E. 16 f TN page 27 (14a) Dillia 14 f TN (actual name=Delila) Sarah 12 f TN Hickson, Rebec. 22 f TN Martha J. 5 f AR William A. 3 m AR Ephram 1 m AR Pitts, Eli B. 19 m AR Farm laborer-attends school [Note: It appears that Caroline was married to a Rogers after she was married to the Friar/Fryar. His name is Joseph A. in the records of his marriage to Mary Churchman (September 12, 1880 in Logan County, Book B, page 265), and he had a brother named James S. Joseph Alexander was born in Tennessee, not Arkansas. I do not have any other information on Caroline in my data base at this time. Hope this helps.
