Hi Sheila, My husband's McBrides are actually from Marietta, Ohio until he and his brother left in the late 70's. Before that they were just a little north of Marietta. Prior to the late 1700s, we *think* they may have come from Ireland or Scotland. We kind of lose the trail. We aren't aware of any going on to Arkansas - however, there are several branches of the tree, so to speak that we have no further information on. Interesting, though, because we have LOTS of William McBrides (my son is even named that!). What is your Fort connection? Blessings, dina
