The Pleasants in my family came from Tennessee to Arkansas. There weren't many, if any, Quakers there either. I think it is just a good old Southern name. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 08, 2002 6:46 AM Subject: [ARLOGAN] Names in Western Arkansas Anyone can spell either of their names anyway they choose too, which can drive researchers nuts. I have seven different spellings for one branch of my family. A name that has fascinated me in western Arkansas is the name Pleasant for a male. I have been told it is a "Quaker" name, but I am unaware of many if any Quakers in the Scott/Logan County area.
