This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kV.2ADE/1121.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Orpha McVay's son, Stanley, was my grandmother, Minnie Rodgers' father. In my meandering through various genealogical sites, I found references to John Stanley's death at Roseville, Arkansas. "killed by bushwackers in 1863" Do you have any information on this? I would also like to find pictures of Orpha, John Stanley or other ancestors. I would happily reimburse any reasonable expense. My father was almost named Rodgers but my Grandpa Martin objected and named him Woodrow W. Sincerely, Joseph Martin
I have a McVay/McVey line. Lucy McVay born in Henry County, Alabama married Joseph Stanford . They moved to Franklin County after the Civil War. Both are buried at Lucys parents were Averitte and Carter ----- Original Message ----- From: <joepcool1963@yahoo.com> To: <ARLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 10:09 AM Subject: [ARLOGAN] Re: McVay,Rodgers,Dalton,Deen,Walters > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kV.2ADE/1121.1.1.2 > > Message Board Post: > > Orpha McVay's son, Stanley, was my grandmother, Minnie Rodgers' father. > In my meandering through various genealogical sites, I found references > to John Stanley's death at Roseville, Arkansas.
