If that rings a bell. Thanks in advance, jshousley@bresnan.net 406-245-5061 Jeremy Housley 648 Conway Street Billings, MT 59105 Samuel Housley (c1814-1870/80) was a grandson of Robert Housley (1759-1835/40). I believe Robert Housley had a daughter who was not married, but had illegitimate children. These children took their mother's (Housley) name. The descendants of these children would not have the Housley Y-DNA. If she had a bunch of boys and they all had different fathers, then all would have a different Y-Chromosome DNA. I believe this is the reason a lot of male Housley descendants of Robert Housley have different Y-Chromosome DNA. This has to be the answer, unless he adopted a bunch of boys into the family. I have been conducting genealogical research for going on thirty years. I have found that this kind of thing occurred all of the time, especially in the late 1700's and the early 1800's. A lot of times a man would have a wife and a bunch of children on one side of the ridge and have another woman and a bunch of kids on the other side. Both of Cass Ann's parents were born in Tennessee, but their names are unknown. Thomas Sykes and Cass Ann (Fitzgerald) Sykes were the parents of two children: 1) Lucinda "Scissors" Sykes, wife of Thomas Brazil. 2) Aaron "Lee" Sykes. husband of Ruth "Ruthie" A. Low. Cass Ann Fitzgerald was married three times: 1) Thomas Sykes (they divorced) 2) Hiram Green (not sure on their marriage, whether or not they divorced or if Hiram died before Cass Ann married again.) 3) Isaiah "Zur" Hamilton Mangrum Hope this helps some. Best regards, Ken Oliver kno5512@swbell.net
