He was married to Millie Berks and had several children, one of which was Lemuel Redding/Redden. I am a direct descendant of William Grant Redding. They are buried in a cemetery outside of Paris, Arkansas in a place that used to be called Greasy Valley. We know that it was after the birth of a Grandchild in 1922. On an Ancestry site of AR deaths is listed M. Pendergrass Logan Co., AR 08/07/23 Vol. 068 Cert 00665.I know that there are many misprints in data, I think it very possible this is Malinda Jane Pendergraft. I must be doing something wrong. I am not getting return messages to people who are posting on ARLOGAN. My gr-gr-grandfather William K. Perkins married Martha Sykes. She was his second wife. I descend from his first wife Parthenia Herron. They were all from Benton Co. Tenn. I have visited what is left of the Sykes cemetery outside Camden Tenn. near the village of Eva. Wm K and Martha came to Scott County, Arkansas in 1850 via a brief stay in Miss. Martha had a brother named Thomas. There was a Thomas Sykes who helped organize in the 1870s what became the Baptist Church at Ione, Ark. I imagine it is the same Thomas. I have other Sykes info but will have to dig it out.
