    3. Thank you for offering to look up families in the Logan County, Arkansas book. Could you please look up the following family names. *Brazil, Sykes, Florence, Miller, Edge* Thomas Jefferson* Brazil *& Lucinda J. *Sykes - *children would have been Rufus, John, Bessie Edith, Augusta Mae, Omer, Harley (Thomas), Ruby Pearl, I know Augusta and Omer were born in the county. Obediah Rivers *Florence* & Martha Elizabeth *Warren* - children would have been Leona Sallie, Raford Haskell, Judeth Maxine, Fannie Etta Florence. All but Fannie were born in Logan County. Henry Jacob* Miller* & Sallie Sarah Ann *Carter* children would have been - Lulu Marie, Henry Robertin, Zenious Lillian, William Edgar, Hesteller E., Ira Clinton, Buster, Curtis Lee, Mary Ethel, Aude (Audie) Henry Miller. All the children were born in Logan County. Thomas Leonard *Edge* & Rosanna M. *Wood* -Children would have been Charley, Greely, Wood Arthur, James Clifton, Nannie, Daniel Rine Edge. Any information you can find would be greatly appreciated. Especially the Brazil line and Edge line. I cannot go any further back on the Brazil Line and if I can just find out who Thomas Jefferson's father was I can make a big dent in this family. I hope I have not overwhelmed you. He was born in Sebastian Co in 1847. In 1872 he married Elizira McDonald and settled in the Grayson community. He was an ordained minister (Bapstist) and a great leader in the community. He contributed to the building of the Grayson school house. He was a farmer, who cleared the lands to farm, a woodsman and a hunter. Mr.s O'Neal was a kind, gentle lady who raised her children with Christian teachings, washed on the rub board, cooked on a wood stove and drew water from the well. They had 11 children: Joseph, 1876; Nora (Blagg), 1878; Marmiduke, 1880; Silvanneious, 1881; Mary Jane (Logan), 1883; Grover, 1887; Thurman, 1889; Ememan, 1891; Gordon, 1894; Nancy Helen, 1896; and Bessie (Logan), 1898. They also helped raise 7 grandchildren; the youngest Lola Mae (Frost) still lives in Charleston. Mrs. O'Neal died in 1935. Mr. O'Neal died at his daughter's home (Bessie Logan) in 1940. They are buried at Golden City. Their grandson Pete O'Neal Logan, and his wife now live on property joining the old O'Neal farm in the Grayson Community. AR It's History and Its People Jane M. Earp Mrs. Jane Earp was born 1823 in South Carolina and married Gray Earp, who died during the Civil War, leaving 2 daughters and 2 sons. Jane, William Henry and Robert came up the Arkansas River from Georgia to Ozark, where she and William Henry left the boat and travled to the Pine Log Community to settle. Robert went on to settle in Texas. Robert's family spelled their name Arp. Wiliam Henry married Mary E. Wade (Mollie) and they raisd 6 children: Lou, Dora, William Lewis, Lola (Peoples), Grace and Oma. Jane, William Henry and Mollie all lived on the homestead until Jane died in 1901. William Lewis, Jane's grandson, married Francis Dicie Brewer on May 19, 1901, and settled on the homestead to raise 9 children: David, Henry, Vester, Wright (James), Aaron "Bud", Nellie (Self), Juanita (Primm), Ray, Edith (Kimes, Bill Jr. Janes eldest great grandson, David Henry Earp, was a big help to William Lewis and Dicie and their big family. He was never a kid but pulled a grown man's day's work. He married Velma Gann on 9-11-1921. They were both 18 years of age. Velma and David spent the next fifty years raising a faily in the Glendal Community. David was a man slight of build but strong as any man twice his size. He received much pleasure from a hard day's work on the farm and for many years, also worked for Tatum's Feed Store in Booneville. David Henry Earp died 2-9-1974, and is buried in the Glendale Cemetery. David is best remembered by family and friends for his keen sense of humor and strong sense of pride. This pride for God, country and faily has been carried down through his descendents, ost of whom still live in Booneville. The children are Daphine Norris Hill Cherry, Pansy E. Fennell, and Joe Henry Earp. The grandchildren are Orville Norris Jr., Doylene Hill Smith, Norma Hill Helster, ! Debbie Fennell Groom, Joanie Fennell Goodwin and Terri Earp. The great grandchildren are Karen Blair, Jeffery Smith, David D. Norris, Grant and Barry Hester and Ben and Nancy Goodwin. by Delores Earp. WILLIAM HENRY EARP William Henry Earp was born July 28, 1848, in Barto Co., GA. Both he and his father Gray Earp served in the Civil War for the Confederacy. Gray Earp died while in the service and was buried in the National Cemetery at Richmond VA. William Henry's mother Jane Earp of South Carolina moved to Arkansas with his family in the 1870's where she lived until her death in June 1901. She is interred at Pine Log Cemetery. William Hnery Earp married Mary Elizabeth Wade on March 17, 1869, in Barto Co., GA. The first of 5 of their children were born in Rome, GA. Dora married Any Blythe; Jack was deceased at age 21; Etter married Dobe Butler; Lula married Elisha Robinson; and Grace married Christopher Clapp. The family moved to Logan Co whih was Scott Co at that time. The other 5 children were born near Pine Log. William Louise married Dicie Brewer; Oma married Lou Campbell, Grover died at age 2; Warren died at age one; Lola married Jake Peoples. The members of the family who are buried at Pine Log Cemetery are Jane, W. H>, Mary Elizabeth, Jack, William, Louis, Grover, Warren and Etter. Dora and Lola are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville. Grace was buried at Ponca City, OK; Oma at Isabella, OK; and Lula Robinson at Garland, OK. By Edith Kimes WILLIAM LOUIS EARP William Louis Earp was born February 1, 1880, near Pine Log in Logan Co. During his school years at Pine Log he met Dicie Brewer, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Brewer, and they were married on May 19, 1901, with Justice of the Peach Jack Norris officiating. Eleven children were born to this union, two of whom died as infants. David married Velma Gann of Lucas. Retired from dairy farming, David died on 2-9-1974. Wright married Clifton James of Lucas and lives at Barber. They both retired from the United States Postal Service. Vester married Locha Cochran of Pine Log and lives in Lebanon, OR, where he retired from Consolidated Lumber Co. Bud married Cora Carlton of Lucas and retired from Berry Dry Goods. Bud died in 1971. Nellie married Claud Selph of Dayton and they are retired from dairy farming. Edith, who married Lael Kimes of San Fernano, CA, formerly of Barber, lives in Ft. Smith and is retired from teaching. Ray married Golda Wade of HOney Grove, TX. He is retired from Sparkman Quality Clothiers Credit Bureau and lives in Ft. Smith. Juanity married Sam Primm and lives in Powderly TX. Bill Jr. married Barbara Brown of Bonham, TX, and is currently employed by Southern Pacific Railways. They live in Bryan, TX. All of the children were born on the old Henry Earp farm near the Pine Log community. After their marriages, the children moved and worked in different areas of the United States. Ray and Bill Jr. spent some years in the US Army, both in the States and in Europe. William Louis and Dicie Earp joined the Methodist Church at Pine Log in 1902. William Louis died on 9-2-1959. Dicie Brewer Earp died 10-21-1970. Both are burined in Pine Log Cemetery. Physical size and dpi (dots per inch resolution) suitable for display would be helpful to those submitting photos. My single photo images are typically less than 100 DPI at approximately 4 foot by 6 foot. My experience of sharing some unique military photos from the 1960's were rejected a few years ago while thousands were acceptable or cetainly used on the internet site VW-2. They were unwilling to inform me of any requirements, if any existed. These images were digitally made from Kodak colored slides. That is like asking if people with the last name of Smith are related. My grandmother was Callie, married to James Garner. Callie's brother was Zack McDaniel. I wrote my cousin Ann Garner that I possibly took 20 pics of Tombstones in June 2006. I am willing to share them, if I can figure out where I have them on DVD/CD. Mildred Collins Wasser did a great job of working on all of the Logan Co Cemeteries and that never included Oak Hill from the data I have seen and used. Quite frankly, I wouldn't want to tackle that project either without planning and a good number of volunteers. A family searcher, Richard L Morgan, of Cin. The burial of my uncle before your father's funeral was proof of that. I'm sure you heard of that going on. If my cousin had not been so upset it would have been funny. Once I get back to normal schedule, I'd like to help with the cemetery photos project. I'm sure if no one else is planning to do it, I can do the Bud Davis cemetery in Grayson. I can also work on the Oak Hill cemetery. I may contact the VFW in that area, too. They have a map of some of the really old section, or at least they did at one time. I saw it when I was in my early teens. But since then all the current records are kept about the owner of the burial site only, not who or where a person maybe be buried. I do have relatives in the Oak Hill Cemetery, but since moving away about 1945, I don't know where many maybe buried. In all my years, I did attend only one funeral service and grave side service for my father in Jun 2006 at Oak Hill. The burial of my uncle before your father's funeral was proof of that. I'm sure you heard of that going on. If my cousin had not been so upset it would have been funny. Once I get back to normal schedule, I'd like to help with the cemetery photos project. I'm sure if no one else is planning to do it, I can do the Bud Davis cemetery in Grayson. I can also work on the Oak Hill cemetery. I may contact the VFW in that area, too. They have a map of some of the really old section, or at least they did at one time. I saw it when I was in my early teens. Anyway, I'm willing to pitch in and help with the project Ann Garner, formerly of Booneville mystique@cei.net
