However I can tell you there was a William Wesley Brown article that has Wlm W. b. 1863 in Mississippi. Wlm had four brothers and four sisters. His family stopped in the Ellsworth area of Logan County, and his family continued on into Indian Territory. It goes on to talk of Wlm Wesleys family descendants. It does not say who his parents were. Only that Wlm Wesleys mother heard the cannons of the Battle of Vicksburg during her labor and delivery of Wm Wesley..Could be a good start for you finding him during the Civil War years before coming to AR. These are the people I have much interest in; Doorfacing Smith is located in Mullberry County in his last census appearance in 1850; so this book may not have anything on the Indian's that were interned in Fort Smith, but anything on the Gotcher; Gocher; Gosher; or Brown (William "Billy" Brown) father indicates he died in Logan county sometime between 1860 - 1870 as Mattie Brown is a widow in Logan County in 1880; her 5 sons disappeared after the Civil War with only Billy and his Indian Bride living by then on the Choctaw/Cherokee lands in Oklahoma - they would move into west Texas; yet Susan and Billy would be buried at Antioch; where my grandfather said he would not be a squaw man and sign the rolls. Susan's uncles were the Choctaw Chiefs, Sitting Bull! ; and Tom Bull - Sitting Bull appears in the 1895 Indian Census at the Canadian River; where my great grandparents lived in the caves in a Tee pee and (as my family has told it) a whole in the ground. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
