Hi, There is a reference to Barbara Swilling White and Logan White, they are both under Toliver David Cosper. There are references to the other surnames but they are listed under other names. I will have to read the persons that they are referenced under. It will be a few days before I will actually get to work on this, I am in the middle of some home remodeling and checked my mail. I did a quick look to see if I had any information that would help. I am printing your email so I will have the names to reference. I will get back to you as soon as I have some free time. Doorfacing is in Arkansas before 1850, actually having his children in MO/IL; meeting William Pleasant Gotcher in MO; he would marry there daughter Martha Elizabeth Smith. I believe Francis name is William Francis Smith, probably born in what was known as "Western" Colony of Virginia somewhere on the MO and Mississippi rivers. There are oral histories in our Brown family that the two families met at a place called Kasasana (first discovered by the French during there survey of the Mississippi River in the mid 1500s). This is a very hazy portion of family history so almost any story is correct since many if any records do not exist any longer, and the Cherokee wars during and before the Civil War insured that the tribes history is broken between these periods internment at different stages of the western movement of most of the Indian Nations east of the Mississippi River; we know by 1840 most had been moved or relocated to Arkansas; then that area was a prime area for settlement the Indian's were removed to Oklahoma. Interesting that you have Strickland's within your family also, my Oklahoma family live in the area of Garvin, Grady. My great grandmother died in Indian City, Antioch Oklahoma during the great influenza epidemic of 1918; my great grandfather of cancer in 1917 - both lived on the Choctaw/Chickasaw Reservation from 1882 - 1897, then moved into Denton Texas, with most of the family settling near Bowie, Texas. Glad to be of help, let me know if I can do any other look ups. -------------------------------------------------- From: <Ysletamopher@aol.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 1:18 PM To: <arlogan@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [ARLOGAN] ARLOGAN Digest, Vol 3, Issue 95 > The 1880 Census that you found is my great great grandfather, Moses > Riley > Madison Smith. Bulah Marie Terry (or any spelling variation)was born in Arkansas about 1910 (according to the 1930 Census) and married about 1925 to Hugh Wesley Smith (born in Arkansas about 1903). She was known to have lived in Booneville, Logan County, Arkansas. In 1930, she was in Oklahoma with her husband and three of her children: Joe (born abt 1926, Oklahoma), Thomas (born abt 1927, Oklahoma) and Flora (born Feb 1930, Spiro Township, Le Flora County, Oklahoma). They were living in Waxahachie, Texas in 1931 where their daughter Evelyn Smith was born. I am really curious about Bulah Marie Terry's ancestors (parents and further back).
