There is a local internet ISP in Paris. Its called Apip.net. It has all the listing of the cemeteries in Logan County under cool links on their web site. The Cemeteries need to be updated in the last 5 years. Check it out. In some cases, like tower monuments a distance photo as well a close up of the wording is included. In cases where entire families are buried in a row or enclosed section, that is photograhped as well and the locations of specific persons are labled to give the family an idea of where each person is in relation to the other. Each entry is noted the parents, children, and marriage dates when able to be discovered, via census-newspaper-courhouse records - indexes- narrative family histories. Some entries may also have pictues of old news articles on the person, an actual picture of the person or an entry as to their family origins. Really anything that I can discover on the interred. There are some people, I just don't know who they are for sure, or anything about them. Maybe through these Albums being distributed we may discover who the person relates to and a bit about them, and give them a proper tribute for all and their descendants to remember them by. There was only one copy unfortunately. I too have family I know is buried there in unmarked graves and would have loved some documentation. As the winter approaches I am going to do some old newspaper research and hopefully from them will be able to document some of the unmarked graves. I did photograph the entire cemetery. Researched the parents and children of the interred and documented them when found. Also included is some of the picutes of the people buried there when available. All the pictures are the best I could get to show the dates on them. A few are so old that can only be read via a photograph using mirrors to cause shadows on the wording. I did not clean, alter, or use anything on the stones themselves for fear of damaging them. There are also overall pictures of the cemetery and group photos of some of the family rows and areas. Known burials there are included even if the grave is not locatable. It turned out to be a very beautiful memorial for our ancestors. The photo album is a bit over 300 pages and available for $45.00. Profits will go to the cemetery fund. I also have a detailed index for $15.00 that has overall cemetery photos names, dates, family connections, but no photos of individual graves. These are both on CD's and ready for shipping. For free I will email you a basic index that has the names and b. & d. dates only. McKendree Cemetery has more family interconnections than I ever realized. I am sure there are more connections than I have listed, however I wanted to use records, not assumptions. I have done the same Album and indexes for Pleasant Grove Cemetery, which is just a mile east of McKendree, Clark Cemetery in Cox Valley south of Paris, Barnhill Cemetery which is between Driggs and Magazine. I am working on Paint Rock just north of Driggs, and Hixson Cemetery which is just east of Paris. Slowly I hope to have the entire north county photographed and documented. If anyone would like to share data and/or photos of their family interred in North Logan County, I would be thrilled to include it in the albums to memorialize your family member.
