He used to tell stories about their visits to Aunt Lucille & how her house had been built from stones that they carried out of the hills. Somewhere packed away, I believe I have photos of Lucille, Reba?, and I believe her husband, Uncle Bob? possibly. 46. Richmond Lee WHITE Richmond was born July 1836/37 in Mississippi. He was the son of Joel White and Sarah. On December 29, 1859 in Texas, he married Elizabeth Whitworth. Richmond and Nelson White were listed as witnesses in a court case in September 1871. Also in Sept. 1871, a list of debtors of M. W. Parker included: J. N. Whitworth, Richmond White, and Pleasant Whitworth. Richmond was appointed administrator of his father's estate on November 17, 1875 in Logan County, Arkansas. Census appearances: 1850 Panola Co., Texas, living with Joel White, age 14 - page 19 #123/123 1860 Titus Co., Texas, married to Eliza, age 24 1870 Shoals Creek, Johnson Co., Ark, married to Elizabeth, age 33 1880 Logan Co., Arkansas, married to Elizabeth, age 43 1900 census - Shoal Creek, Ark, June 1900 White, R. L. 63 July 1836 widowed Miss , Fannie 16 Jan. 1884 single Ark [his daughter] Richmond died after 1907 in Logan County, Arkansas, per his Civil War pension application. I have my g-father Clarence Thompson's birth certificate which indicated that Myah was married to Rusenza Nicols. This certificate was filed late and Rusenza had the last name of Gooch in the 40's when the certifcate was filed. Clarence was listed as the 4th child. Clarence and my grandmother separted when my father was 2 years of age. My knowledge of my g-father Clarence is very limited. I was told he remarried and moved to Florida and had 2 children Jack and Vickie. Of course this is stories passed from person to person so I am not sure how much is correct. I was so happy to see an e-mail for Betty and the obit of Miah it put me on cloud nine. I hope this message gets to you. I would love to corespond with you and your wife. It was made during World War II, I am guessing that they lived in Blue Mtn. at the time, because my grandfather, Vernon Armstrong's name is in one of the two Blue Mtn. squares. The quilt lists mens names from all over Arkansas that served in World War II. I know that it hung in a museum in Arkansas for about 5 years when I was a little girl, but do not know which museum. Any of my family that would have known the history of the quilt have passed away. If anyone has any information, feel free to e-mail me.
