However I should have mentioned in the original post the time frame within this area. I was trying to help a friend with her Davis's from that area between 1900 and 1930's. She does not have a computer....and I am not all that familiar with this family, just what she has told me. I do appreciate your efforts here trying to help me. But for now, I think it might be easier jus to let it go...in recent weeks my friend has seemed to lose interest in huntung any more. And since its not in my tree, I think I too will let it rest. Again thanks for your efforts. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I think it was their brother, Johnny Davis that I finished high school with in 1952(he is deceased). There was a brother Kent Davis who lived in Hayward, CA. Lillian married a Robert "Bob" Rice from Paris. He was a brother to two brother-in-laws. There was a Walter from there also. If you are on Ancestry and can access the Family Trees go to the Rice/Phillips tree and you can get more information than possibly available from the two women mentioned above. I do not know why it did it and I do not know why it finally works again. I have Charter & aol and I have never been thrilled with either. I really appreciate the information. I have always wondered where my Grandma, Elaabeth Jane Rouslston, married her FIRST husband, Ancil Antine Conrad Jones? They had two sons: 1. Robert Antine Jones "Tine" b. 12/9/1895 Delaware AR married Jicie Graves and they had 2 sons and a daughter. Uncle Tine was an Undertaker and a Minister and he was a large, strong, jovial man. His wife was a small, thin rather quiet woman. I was not around them a lot. They mostly lived in TX I believe. 2. Virgil Clinton Jones 11/29/1897 Delaware, AR He married Emma Franklin. They had 4 boys and I don't recall ever seeing Uncle Virgil or his wife Emma. I understand he was a rather small thin man and he was a farmer. My Aunt Pearl said he was fun. I believe they mostly lived in TX and AR. I am not sure when & where Grandma's first husband, Ancil Jones died but the boys were small. Sep 23, 1903 Elizabeth Jane Roulston Jones married John Henry Fowler Yell Co., AR They had: 1. Lottie Lou "Rena" Fowler b. 11/8/1904 Dardanelle, AR(named for two of Uncle Bob Roulstons early girl friends). She was soft spoken, intelligent, focused and loved to laugh but was rather shy. She married William "Jack" Gentry. They had one son and one daughter. 2. William "Bill" Randall Fowler b. 1/30/1907 Delaware, AR (named for Great Grandpa Willim David Fowler)he was soft spoken with a dry wit and he laughed a lot when I was around him as a child and when I was a grandma. He had a Dairy when I was small, he loved country life and lived in the country last time I saw him and had at least one horse that I saw and a couple of ponds to fish in. He married Canzetta "Zetta" Hood and they always seemed well matched to me as she was lots of fun too. They had two sons. 3 & 4. Twins, delivered by Dr. John Moore who lived nearby with his wife Jicie. John "Earl" Fowler (named for Dr. John Moore & John Roulston) 1/11/1910 Dardanelle, AR He was intelligent, ambitious and had many, many business' and was one of the most interesting of my Uncles (in my opinion)as he was what my Dad called a chicken or feathers man, he ALWAYS was thinking of some new idea and was always anxious to begin a new project. He was a Naturapathic Dr when he died. He married Edna Marion Agnes Hanning and had 3 daughters and 2 sons and married a second time and had two sons and married a third time and had no children. Jicie "Pearl" Fowler 1/11/1910 Dardanelle, AR (named for Dr. Moores wife and her Aunt Pearl Roulston). She had the same dynamic enthusiasim for life that her twin had, she was also intelligent and ambitious and did not have a lazy bone in her body, she was constantly busy or planning something. She seemed much happier in her old age than in her youth. She married Edward Wofford, a soft spoken quiet man, and they had a son. After a long marriage Ed Wofford died in an accident and after a while she married Herb Myer. Pearl and her sister, Rena, both loved children and took Foster Children that they loved dearly. I believe that Pearl adopted one of the girls, I am not sure if Rena adopted any but both Rena and Pearl really loved the girls they raised and also the children they had a brief time. 5. Ernest "Alvin" Fowler b. 6/20/ 1912 Delaware, AR (it seems to me that he was named for one of Eliza Jane Roulston Fowler's Uncles, I may be meistaken). He first married Arlina Downey and they had a daughter and then he married Opal Shanks, a Dental Assistant, and they had no children. Alvin was a very quiet man, and he was shy, unusual for a Fowler. He was a handsome man, he worked as a welder in his youth and later worked for a newspaper delivering papers to the news delivery people and news stands. 6. Guy "Leslie" Fowler b. 8/21/1914 Delaware, AR (named for Guy Luther Rouslton), he was my Dad. He was a welding contractor until he retired at 67. He married Lorene Aylor and they had 2 surviving daughters. They both were warm and generous people, both quick witted and adventurous, never bored or boring. They were wonderful to travel with. 7. James "Jim" Wesley Fowler b. 6/5/1917 Delaware, AR (named for James Roulston). He was a truck driver and was killed in an accident as a young man. He was a friendly, tall man (like all his brothers, I believe they were all 6 ft or over). He married Helen Twilla, a rather quiet, witty, warm person who raised their 2 sons and 2 daughters. I was not around Jim very much but his widow and children moved out to CA and I was around them when the children were growing up. When they were grown they moved to OK. 8. Henry "Aldon" Fowler b. 7/14/1919 Paris, AR He was a welder for a while but for most of his life he was a Minister. He played almost any instrument, he loved music. He wrote poetry, and songs. He loved laughing and had a really gentle, warm sense of humor. He married Earlene Chisum, a tiny, quick woman who was energetic and very kind and gentle. They had two daughters and a son. Of course my parents & Fowler Aunts & Uncles are gone now except for Helen Twilla Fowler. They were all strong personalities and their "get togethers" were lots of fun. They all loved to laugh, they were all white haired in their older years, graying early. The men, like Great Grandpa Rob Roulston & their own Dad, John Henry Fowler, had a head full of white hair in older years. They were, for the most part, friendly and gracious. I would have liked them as people if I had not been related to them. My friends all liked them. I was raised in CA and did not know my Uncle Virgil and Time Jones all that well as they lived in AR & TX but Uncle Time visited out here several times and seemed to be a large, jovial sort of person that attracted others to him. My Uncle Bill Fowler was in TX too and I last saw him when we visited in the 1970s. Uncle Bill seemed to be a soft spoken, very pleasant man with a quick wit and his wife, Zetta, was a perfect match for him. My sister & I went to bed about 10 PM and could hear our parents, Uncle Bill & Aunt Zetta still laughing as we fell asleep. That was one of the best trips we ever had. That same trip we had gone to see Great Aunt Lucille Roulston and Reva Ruth, her daughter, we saw Great Aunt Nettie Roulston Bowman, Great Aunt Mamie, who was Great Uncle John Roulston's widow and that was fun too. Some people seem to be good company to the very last and Aunt Lucille had that gift of fun. My Dad, Les Fowler, and Uncle Aldon Fowler, Aunt Pearl Fowler, I guess most of them, were the same way. My son described my parents and Uncles and Aunts as "Southern Cordial." I was around Great Uncle Jim Roulston and his wife, Aunt Icie, & their family, they were certainly good people, they were warm and caring people who let us stay with them until we found a place to live, no easy task during WW II but my Mom was fortunate to find a place quickly. I met Great Uncle John Roulston, his wife Mamie, and some of his kids when they came to CA and I liked them too. Dad loved to hear Uncle John talk and said Aunt Mamie made the very best pecan pie in the world. Great Uncle Bob Roulston & Aunt Lucille lived in Whittier, CA when I was small (I am 74)and at their house everybody had a good time too. They had the one daughter, Reva Ruth who died not long after Aunt Lucille passed away. Great Aunts Mattie and Nettie Roulston who married brothers, George and Sparlin Bowman were both out here for many years. Aunt Matt was warm and outgoing while her husband, Uncle George Bowman was a gentle, quiet rather serious man (that I recall). Aunt Nettie was also a warm, gentle lady and her husband, Uncle Sparlin, was soft spoken and really witty. Aunt Matt & Aunt Nettie were BEAUTIFUL women in my opinion. I never met Great Grandpa Roulston but everyone says he was a good, honorable man, my Dad and all my Aunts & Uncles really loved him. I am sure they all had their faults (like everyone else) but they were always pleasant around me so that is what I would know about them. My parents always told me if you always behave politely everything else pretty well takes care of itself and that seems to be the way the family behaved the best I recall. Thanks so very much for sharing with me. I am always so curious about the people I did not know.
