I wonder if you would have anything on a Courtney ( or Coatney) Family. I have a grandfather who was said to have been born in Paris, Ark. His names was Granville Calvin Courtney B: 1 Sept 1885 Paris, Logan Co., Ark. Born to Parents Wiley C. Courtney of Releigh, Smith Co., Ms., and Mary Ann E.E.Creel of Ellisville, Creek Co., Ms. You see from the Vital record information there may not be any birth records before 1917. So, now I am wondering if there was anything there on The family. "Very puzzling, if I need a proof of birth for Granville ha!" His grandfather Mark Cole married Serena Hooper, daughter of Claiborne Rhodes Hooper and Mary Ann Story Hooper. I was pleased to find a copy of a newspaper article on Mary Ann(Polly) who at the time had 450 living decendants. She lived for many years in the area of Mt. Magazine. and died in 1904. I found also a picture of her in her later years and would very much like to have a better one as the one I got off the internet was grainy. Although the family resemblance to my grandfather was very plain. Now I seek help in finding the parents of Markus W. Cole. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. All the censuses that JKP filled out says both his parents were born in GA. As for Robert, in the 1910 Washburn, Sebastian, AR census it has Robert as "Robert E." His mother & Jessee has an "L" as their middle initial. Also in the 1917-18 Draft registration his name is listed as "Robert E. Lee Phillips". He is age 23, married with three kids, is a farmer. By the way, I have a photo of all of JKP's sons which we think were taken when Robert was married because he is the only one with a flower on his lapel.
