Or should #3 be your husband's parents? Nancy Ann (Rollans) and William W. "Bill" Downing did not have a son named James Thomas. Thsy did have a son named Thomas Jefferson "Tom". Author: bettyccrn Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.logan/3510.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: You have obviously not been to any of the cemeteries in Logan County. They are mostly quiet, country cemeteries, and they are lucky to have a board that takes care of the upkeep. None of them have a sexton, and very few have any detailed records of people buried in them. Ellsworth Cemetery has such a list, but I don't know of any other that does. Some of us have worked on listings, but most of us are not connected to any governing board or official body of the cemetery. So far as I know, there are no official records for burials in any of the cemeteries in Logan County. Most of these cemeteries are governed informally by the people who show up at Decoration each year. I know of no group connected with Old Logan Hall Cemetery. Maybe someone else can help you with that. I looked at the picture you posted the url for. I would have a tough time saying that stone says A. T. It looks more like A. A. to me. Author: DuncanNeill Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.logan/3510/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am deserately seeking to find out the exact name of my GGgrandfather. He shoews up as A.H. Tyler on the marriage certificate to R.A. Rush (Rose Ann Rush) on 9 Dec 1886 in Johnson Co. Arkansas. Their only child was born in Paris, Logan Co. in 1887 and Rose Ann remarried Thomas Reed in 1991 in Logan Co. This means A.H. Tyler died between 1887 and 1891 in most likely Logan Co.. In searching through Logan Co. transcriptions, I found in Logan Hall cemetery a stone with the intials of A.T. hand etched on it as the only info. I need help finding out someone to contact to see if there are records to see who this person is. I have no other info on A.H. Tyler except that he was born in Tennessee according to his son's census records. Rose Ann was very yound when they married and I guesstimate A.H. to be born around 1865 given that he would have been around 21 at the time of marriage, but I could be WAY off. This is my brick wall and any help would be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The only census information is the 1880 census for Short Mountain, Logan, Arkansas. I am also interesting in knowing if any type of outbreak would have occurred after 1880 that would have taken the life of the young Mattie (a few months old in 1880 census) before I see my great grandparents in Young, Texas in 1900. It appears that there are two marriage records (one in Mena, and then the one for Sol Brown in Logan - which are the same - could that also be explained, was Mena a county seat or something?). Thanks for any assistance in discovering the mystery of my Brown family. Jimmie Ryan Solomon and Martha Susan Gotcher Brown

I have relation with two lines of Josiah, Ellis and his son Solomon who married my great great grandfather sister. My 3rd great grandmother was Elizabeth "Miss Betsy" Stephen, daughter of Ellis.. or there could be a possiblity that she is the daughter of William H... just cannot track it down. Researcher for the Brazier line (mine) say she is a Aunt to Solomon Stephens, son of Ellis. Some has said she is the sister of Solomon who married into the same family, Elizabeth was a name for Ellis daughter born in Jackson in 1824. William also had a daughter in that same time period in the same place - so right now I have her as the daughter of Ellis. These two family will move into Texas in the late 1880s. They live in Dallas, Bowie, Sunset, and other northeast section of Texas and probably all of Oklahoma. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
